To support you in navigating the challenges of parenting, we’ve partnered with ParentGuidance.org to provide free and confidential resources that address key mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, bullying, and family issues.

Through ParentGuidance.org, you have access to over 50 therapist-led courses, including the popular Parenting with a Purpose series, all designed to help you build stronger relationships with your children. We also offer One-on-One Parent Coaching for more personalized support. Coaches are available for confidential, 30-minute sessions to discuss your concerns and provide guidance. To start, visit the website, select “Parent Coaching,” and register.

Our next FREE webinar, ABC’s of Substance Use & Vaping, will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm CST. Throughout October, we’ll also explore topics like Bullying and Parenting Through Anxiety & Depression. You can pre-register for upcoming sessions here: 6 PM or 8 PM.

Each month, parents can also join an Ask a Therapist LIVE session, where licensed therapists answer your questions anonymously during a one-hour workshop.

Congratulations to Queen Kenadee Smith and King Quentin Davault! Our homecoming week was filled with school spirit as students and staff showed their enthusiasm. We kicked off the festivities with a pep assembly on Friday, followed by a fun parade before the coronation and the football game. The celebrations wrapped up with a school dance on Saturday. Thank you to everyone who came out and made this homecoming special!

We are excited to share our first attendance update of the year, and it’s off to a great start! Our students are demonstrating impressive attendance rates. We’ll continue to highlight the importance of regular attendance in supporting student achievement.

This month, students from Girls Golf, Citizenship class, FFA, and Teens 4 Jesus came together to participate in the monthly commodity distribution, proudly representing St. James R-1 School District. We are deeply grateful to the St. James Caring Center for their continued service and support, serving as a vital resource for our community.

At St. James, we believe that great things happen when we build partnerships and give back to those around us.

Thanks to the incredible support of the St. James Chamber of Commerce and our Tiger Community, enough funds were raised to provide carnival wristbands for every student from kindergarten through 8th grade. The Chamber delivered these wristbands to both St. James Middle School and Lucy Wortham James Elementary, showcasing the importance of community partnerships in empowering our students. Our students had a fantastic time enjoying the Grape and Fall Festival!

In our School-Based Enterprise (SBE) class, students are gaining valuable experience by running Tiger Express Apparel, their own student-run business. They are involved in every aspect, from product design and marketing to managing finances and sales.

This year, they took on a significant project—creating staff shirts for the district. Their hard work and creativity are positively impacting our school community.
