LNPD Weekly Newsletter
Learn 'N Playday Preschool Updates for the Week of 11/11
LNPD Weekly Updates
Another fun week at LNPD. This week I sent out a Sign up Genius for our upcoming 4's Feast. Please sign up to bring at least one thing in to help with the success of our day.
We have an early release next Friday, 11/22 for students. Our carpool in the morning remains the same, however, our afternoon pick up will be 10:50am-11:05am.
We had another Allen fire truck visit on Wednesday from Station 3 on Bethany. We were so excited to see that we had a fire truck and not a fire engine come this time. See if your child remembers what the difference is between the two.
New request....If you are running late and you know we are still out at carpool, please send an email to your teachers and copy Mrs. Denise. We have access to email while at carpool and not the LNPD phones. Thank you!
Carpool cone reminders:
Please do not exit your car if you are behind the red cone and do not drive to your teacher's section if there is no opening in their cone area.
Angie and Stephanie are Red cone to Green cone
Celesa and Cynthia are Green cone to Blue cone
Dede and Yolanda are Blue cone to Purple cone
PLEASE also remember to hang your car tag from your mirror at drop off and pick-up.
Some photos from our Wednesday Allen Fire Department visit are shown below, but also go to your teacher websites to see even more.

General Weekly REMINDERS:
*Please try to be on time to LNPD....we leave carpool promptly at 9am. (call 972-396-6932 if you are late and someone from LNPD will meet you at Door #10). Try emailing your teachers and Mrs. Denise too. We can check emails from the carpool area, but are not close to a phone at the time of drop off and pick up.
If you do not reach LNPD, please call the Anderson number 972-396-6924 and let them know you are waiting at Door #10. They will radio me that you are here and a LNPD staff member will come and retrieve your child.
*When calling the Anderson phone number or going to the front office, please let the staff know that you are with Learn 'N Playday.
*Please have a full change of clothes in your child's back pack every day including shoes.
Classroom Themes
3's Angie and Stephanie's classes focused on Families this week. Their classroom had families of dogs, cats, people, and many others that all related to the theme. Counting and matching letters was a common activity for their centers. All these activities work to have the kids recognize their alphabet and numbers.
4's Celesa and Cynthia's class learned all about Transportation. During the holiday's many families travel, so that is the reason for this focus for the week. Activities revolved around, planes, trains, cars, and boats. Writing practice and math are staples in the room weekly.
4's Dede and Yolanda's class were all about Families and Native Americans. They covered our first families in American and how the Native Americans partnered with the Pilgrims to have the first Thanksgiving dinner. They too represented different types of families this week and had lots of writing and number practice activities to complete too.
All our classes will change their themes weekly and all arts and activities will support the learning of each theme week too.
November/December Calendar of Events
Our Peach newsletter and calendar went home this month. The December calendar will go home the week of 11/18. Please make sure you are making note of important dates and activities each month. We don't want any of our families missing out on all the stuff going on at Learn 'N Playday!!! If you ever lose yours, I post our monthly newsletter and calendar on our LNPD website. I will send a Newsletter/Calendar home at the beginning of each new month and they will vary in copy paper color.

Our waiting list for the 2025-2026 school year opened on October 1, 2024, with registration starting in February of 2025 and continuing until the school year begins in August. Please visit our Eleyo online link to get on that waiting list. Make sure you are selecting the correct class of 3's or 4's and the 25/26 school year. (L&P image linkable to Eleyo)
Children must be either 3 by 9/1 for our 3's classes or 4 by 9/1 for our 4's classes.
If your child is currently enrolled at LNPD there is no need to get on the waiting list. I will reach out to current families in January and get our existing families and siblings signed up before enrollment opens to the waiting list in February.

LNPD Late arrival and Phone Calling
PLEASE try and be on time for school. Kids are more excited to come to school when they see their friends waiting outside at carpool. We have had a lot of lateness and it takes away from your child's classroom time and it also may prevent them from getting selected for a classroom job.
**If you know we are still out at carpool in either the morning or afternoon, please send an email to your child's teachers and copy Mrs. Denise too. We are able to check message while we are away from our classrooms.
Illness Reminders:
If sick, your child must be:
1. fever free 24 hours
2. vomit free 24 hours
3. diarrhea free for 24 hours, all before sending them back to school
They also need to be medicine free at school. Giving Tylenol or other fever reducing medicines in the morning can upset their stomachs and also lead to fevers and vomiting later in the day or children falling asleep.
We have seen a few upset tummies and some runny noses and coughing at LNPD. Allergy and flu season is upon us. This can cause lots of drainage, headaches, tummy aches, vomiting, and low grade fevers. Please be on the lookout for any of these things and keep your children home if they are within that 24 hours of being contagious.
Recess Information
If it is 90-99 actual temperature or heat index, we have a shortened recess time of 10 minutes
It is 100 or above actual temperature or heat index it is INDOOR recess only
35 or below actual or wind child, INDOOR recess only
36-40 degrees its shortened recess and all students must have appropriate jacket and clothing
Air Quality alerts are also shortened recess 10-15 minutesPotty Reminders
Please make sure you have your child use the restroom before leaving your houses in the mornings. Also, please remind your children to tell the teachers when they need to go potty. Some of the accidents that we might experience are because our students either wait too long to tell someone or they do not inform the teachers that they need to go. (Every LNPD class goes as a class at least 3-4 times per day)
Please have a full change of clothes in your child's backpack. Socks and shoes included and more than one pair of underwear and pants or shorts are always helpful too. Please also make sure your children's clothing items are labeled and season appropriate.
Other Important Information
- Field trips and LNPD activities have begun. All parents must complete a background check prior to participating in any of these activities. This process may take up to two weeks to complete. I have included the link for easy access if you are interested in volunteering. https://www.allenisd.org/page/register-volunteer
- We do not use the school water fountains, so a water bottle is definitely needed. We have a touch free, filtered water bottle station in the LNPD hallway, so we can refill their bottles too.
Make sure to visit our LNPD website to view our monthly calendar and newsletter, find your weekly classroom news and pictures, music songs, links to Eleyo. www.allenisd.org/learnnplayday
- Visit our Allen ISD home page to find the latest information on the district. https://www.allenisd.org
- If you think your child needs to be assessed for any special services, such as speech, autism, hearing or vision impaired, cognitive, social or emotional development, etc..., please reach out to our Allen ISD Special Services department and then go to Child Find. Here is their direct link to get you started: https://www.allenisd.org/o/aisd/page/child-find
