LETTER FROM SUPERINTENDENT AYERS
Dear Staff and Community Members,
I am pleased to share an update on the successful start of the school year in the Manhattan School District. As we enter year two of our new accreditation process, our focus remains on key areas: the Graduate Profile, Proficiency-Based Learning, Educator Effectiveness, and School Climate. We value your insights and will be actively seeking stakeholder input throughout the year.
To facilitate this dialogue, I invite you to join our monthly Superintendent Advisory Committee meetings. Staff will meet at 4:00 PM, followed by parents and community members at 5:30 PM, every second Tuesday of the month in the high school activities room. Our November meeting will specifically address the DRAFT Graduate/Learner Profile and a proposal to open the out-of-district enrollment application process for the second semester of the 2024-2025 school year.
Additionally, we are seeking corporate sponsors to support our extracurricular and co-curricular programs. With an anonymous donation for a new activities bus, we are looking to raise approximately $50,000 by the end of the school year. Advertising space on the new bus will be available, and I encourage interested businesses to reach out to Athletic Director Nate Parseghian at ad@mhstigers.org or Business Manager Ann Heisler at aheisler@mhstigers.org.
Thank you for your continued support and commitment to transparency. I look forward to our ongoing collaboration to enhance our students’ educational experience.
Sincerely,
Superintendent Ayers
