Friendly reminder that polls are currently open in the Argyle ISD Bond & Trustee Elections. Early voting runs through Tuesday, April 30.
Early voting through Saturday is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Voting is available on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Avoid the lines and vote early! Voters can vote at ANY early voting location.
Also, be sure to visit the Argyle ISD Bond FAQs webpage which is updated regularly.

BOND 2024: Updated Bond FAQs
Argyle ISD continues to update its FAQs page and many of the questions from the community, parents and staff meetings have been added to the website.
FAQ: What do “bond authorization” and “issuing bonds” mean?
Answer: Bond authorization specifies the amount of bonds the district is authorized by voters to sell. Bond issues may occur over a period of time based on the current bonding capacity and schedule of projects.

One-Act Play Bound for Regionals!
Argyle High School One-Act Play is Region Bound this weekend. The group advanced after an outstanding performance at the area event. Congratulations to the Eagles and Theatre Director Melissa Carpenter.

AHS Graduation: Tuesday, May 21 at UNT
Well, the Class of 2024 is getting closer and closer to that special day! Graduation for this year's Eagle seniors will be Tuesday, May 21 at 5 p.m. at the University of North Texas Coliseum.
Graduation practice will be held Monday, May 20 at 10:30 a.m. in the AHS auxiliary gym.

AMS Art Students Gain Recognition!
Argyle Middle School art students recently competed in the Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE) and had an awesome showing! Students presented original art pieces to judges and went through the interview process. Artwork was judged on a 1-4 score (4 is top score) and the top 10 percent of all 4's from all schools were awarded platinum level.
The competition included 677 students from North Texas schools.

Thank You, Argyle ISD Bus Drivers!
This week we took time to recognize our awesome and dedicated bus drivers from the Transportation Department on Bus Driver Appreciation Day! The district operates 29 drivers and routes committed to transporting our students safely every day. The transportation crew also includes seven additional staff and mechanics!
From welcoming our students in the morning with a friendly smile and navigating traffic jams on 377 to making sure every student gets home safely, our bus drivers are the real heroes of our school community.
We had the privilege of serving up lunch this week as a token of appreciation for our transportation team! Special thank you to our Eagle Partners for sponsoring the meal.

The Future! SGC Band Shines In First Competition! 🎺
The SGC band performed in its first competition this week at Richland High School and rocked it! These amazing Eagles have grown so much musically in just one year!
The SGC Band was under the direction of Marlie Cote and James McNair. Great job, Eagles!

VIDEO: School Board Candidate Forum
The Cross Timbers Gazette hosted the Argyle ISD School Board Candidate Forum last week at the AHS auditorium. Thank you to those who attended and we appreciate The Cross Timbers Gazette for leading and moderating this event.
The event was live-streamed and the video is available on The Talon News YouTube Channel.
The Trustee election includes two places on the ballot. All candidates were asked a series of questions regarding a wide range of topics. The candidates included Place 4 - Josh Pezzuto and Rich McDowell and Place 5 is Dr. Leona McDade (incumbent) and Wendy McCue.

AHS Color Guard Hosting Auditions - May 1-3
The AHS Color Guard will hold auditions for the upcoming marching season on May 1-3 from 5:15-7:15 p.m. in the AHS band hall. If you are looking for a fun place to spin, dance, perform, travel, and compete, then we’ve got a spot for you!
Auditions are open to all current 7th and 8th graders, as well as all current 9th-11th graders, and no experience is necessary. Please contact Ms. King at erica.king@argyleisd.com, or scan the QR code for more information.

Eagle Baseball Wraps Up Regular Season Friday
The Argyle Eagle baseball team will conclude the regular season on Friday at Denton at 7 p.m. The Eagles are 19-7-2 and coming off a 6-4 loss to Denton at home on Tuesday.
After Friday night, the Eagles will begin the playoffs. Watch for more information soon on their bi-district round matchup.
Eagle Runner State Bound! 🦅
Congratulations to Argyle Eagle track standout Tyler Westrom! He has qualified for the UIL State Track & Field meet in Austin and will compete in the 1,600-meter run. Tyler, who has signed with TCU, finished second at the Region I meet in Lubbock.
Fellow long distance runner Brian Woolums, who has signed with Lamar, finished 5th at the regional. Ake O'Neal took 6th in the triple jump and Zack Holt was 4th in the pole vault.
