June 2026 NYC Trip
ETMS is going to NYC next summer, and you’re invited!
Next year’s 7th and 8th grade students have the opportunity to experience the bright lights and big city in June of 2026. We will see two Broadway shows, the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Central Park, and Times Square. This city is rich in the history and culture that shapes the rest of our nation, and this enriching experience will leave students with a deeper understanding of the world around them. Come learn more about the trip Tuesday, May 13 at 7:00 pm in the ETMS library including more details about our itinerary, what all is included, and ways we can work together to make the trip more affordable. Visit bit.ly/etmstrip for more information.

REMINDERS & REPEATED ITEMS
Securly
The Lee’s Summit R-7 School District uses an internet filter called Securly to help keep students safe while using their school-issued Chromebooks. After listening to parent and community feedback on students’ technology use, we are pleased to announce that parents and guardians will now have access to Securly Home, a feature allowing visibility and control of their child’s internet access at home while on the district-issued Chromebook. Securly Home is now part of the software solution the district is currently subscribing to on an annual basis.
Here are some features offered by Securly Home:
- Weekly Updates – Parents and guardians will begin receiving emails each Monday that summarize their child’s previous week of Internet activity and searches. They will also be able to see any content that was flagged for bullying, self-harm or suicide.
- Real-Time Usage Review – Parents and guardians wishing to have real-time information about their child’s Internet use can access the Securly parent portal or download the Securly Home app on their mobile device.
- Controls and Filters – The parent portal and Securly Home app will also give parents the ability to modify some Internet filter settings during times the Chromebook is being used off-campus. For example, if parents want the Chromebook turned off at 7:00 p.m. each night, they can simply click a button in the Securly Home app.
