A Publication of St. Gabriel the Archangel School 10/9/2024
Dear Fabulous Families -
- What an awesome picnic weekend! It was great to see so many of our families on Saturday. Thanks, again, to everyone who volunteered to make it a success!
- On our professional development day, staff members prayed a decade of the rosary together to celebrate the Month of the Holy Rosary. Then we spent time learning more about the NWEA/MAP test, digging into data, and preparing for student goal-setting. We are looking forward to including students in discussions about their data and to explore ways they can take more ownership for their learning. Finally, Colleen Mooney, from One Classroom, spoke to our staff about their organization. One Classroom is an organization that works with schools to help provide inclusive settings for students with significant learning differences in Catholic schools. They provide professional development for staff members. St. Gabriel is a recipient of a $10,000 grant to help defray the cost of an instructional assistant to support some of our students with significant learning needs.
- The Book Fair is right around the corner! Please sign up to volunteer and set up your child's eWallet so they can go shopping!
- Last, if your child has lice, please be sure you report it to Nurse Dawson at kdawson@stgab.org. So many of you do this already and we are appreciative of you keeping us in the loop. I am in the midst of learning more than I want to about lice to ensure our practices are up to date when it comes to these bugs!
Coming home in the Wednesday yellow envelope:
