A warm welcome back to our Pandas, Gators and Parents!! We hope everyone had an enjoyable, restful summer full of fun and adventures. As we look forward to a wonderful new school year, we wanted to share some updates and information we know you are eager to learn. Our PTA is always looking to connect the Glenview community and strengthen family-school relationships. Your partnership in supporting our PTA through volunteering and/or membership, helps us bring even bigger and better school assemblies, author visits, fun events like movie night, staff appreciation, volunteer opportunities for our students, grants for our teachers and so much more!! Our online spiritwear store through Humankind is still open if you want to design custom, one of a kind spiritwear. Once you place your order, the clothing will be sent home with your child unless you choose home delivery for an extra fee. 20% of proceeds from all sales come back to our PTA. Check it out below!

We know many of you are excited to sign up as room representatives this year. This role is important as it is a chance to bring us together and start building relationships outside of school which then helps deepen our children's connection to each other and our community. Having the time to communicate through email with parents in the classroom by first building the class directory and then timely sharing messages from the PTA is vital for this role.

PTA creates and sponsors 3 classroom parties per year. A total of 4 parents participate in each party by signing up when the sign ups per party are released. Each classroom will have no more than 1-2 room reps. Room reps help coordinate the 3 parties and therefore are able to attend all 3 parties in the year. Parents who are not able to participate in the room rep role, will still be able to sign up for each party as the sign ups are released. Read our newsletters for info about each party coming up!

New this year, we have 3 incredible parents who are in our VP of room parents role. Our VPs will help coordinate and manage room reps per school/grade. If you do sign up for the room rep role, you will receive a link for a zoom meeting to take place on Tuesday 8/27 at 6:30pm. Please do your best to attend this meeting as it will give you more information about the role. The meeting will be recorded and sent to you in case you missed it.

Also new this year, Room Reps are an extension of the PTA and will therefore undoubtedly receive lots of questions from parents about the PTA. You are highly encouraged to attend our monthly PTA meetings which take place in person and over zoom (mornings and evenings). A meeting schedule will be sent to you. This is an opportunity not only to gain greater insight into our PTA and schools but also to learn more about our district, its needs and opportunities for improvement. It is also a place to get to know other parents across both schools and hear news from our amazing principals on the latest happenings within Westbrook and Glen Grove. If you have questions, this is a great time to meet and connect.

Our PTA website will be your best bet for finding all the info you need about events and happenings in our schools. Please visit often so you don't miss out on any of the fun!

It's time to Purchase or Renew your PTA membership for this school year! Help support our PTA by purchasing a membership so we can continue to provide class parties, fun community events, assemblies, staff appreciation, grants to support our students and schools and so much more! Buying a membership does not obligate you to volunteer or attend meetings although we would love to see you! The membership is annual and per person. Your yearly contribution allows our PTA to deepen our student's connections to each other and to their school! THANK YOU for your support!

Please join us for our first PTA meeting of this school year. The meeting will be held at Westbrook school in the fishbowl room from 10:15-11am on Wednesday 9/4. Please sign in at the school's office before proceeding to the meeting. For safety, please do not hold/open doors for others. The school administrators will buzz people in. There is also a zoom option for those who cannot join us in person.

Please join PTA on the 1-2 grade playground at Westbrook school on Wednesday 9/4 at 4-5pm for fun, sun, games and KONA ice! We will have spiritwear and some surprises!
