Virtual Start of School

CCA Scholars & Parents,

We are all struggling with the start of school in a virtual environment. The CCA staff has missed seeing students in our new building and look forward to October 5th.


We know new students to CCA have experienced a greater struggle than those in the past. CCA's schedule and calendar are different from all the other campuses in CISD. CCA follows both TCC and CISD calendars, and our bell schedule is based upon TCC class times. See more information about our bell schedule below.


Many scholars are experiencing issues with their school issued laptop. When issues arise, please bring the laptop back to campus. Some are repaired by connecting directly to the district server and downloading updates. Others need to be replaced.


As always, we are here to support you on a daily basis, please do not suffer with an issue and feel like you are alone. Please reach out to me or one of your teachers,.

CCA Bell Schedule

We have been working with the CISD Technology Department and Skyward to have the CCA calendar visible in Skyward for families. We recently found that our work this summer was in vain. Skyward continues to show the CTE calendar of A/B days which is not the same as the CCA calendar [Note: CTE calendar alternates A and B day regardless of the day of the week]


At CCA:

- A-day = Monday and Wednesday

- B-day = Tuesday and Thursday

- Fridays alternate A- and B-day (posted on the CCA Calendar attached)


8:40-9:20 am = 1st Period: Daily Student Intervention & Tutorials - Check-in and Character Strong for all, and with Mentors for 9th & 12th on Fridays


9:25-10:55 am = 2nd Period A/B Block (follows A-day and B-day calendar)


11:00 am-12:30 pm = 3rd Period A/B Block (follows A-day and B-day calendar)


If 4th period is Lunch this is B-lunch 12:35-1:05 pm, then 5th period is class: Daily 1:10-2:20 pm

OR If 4th period is class: Daily 12:35-1:45 pm, then 5th period is D-lunch 1:50-2:20 pm


2:30-3:55 pm = 6th Period A/B Block (follows A-day and B-day calendar)

CCA Return to Campus

CCA will hold an informational meeting on Monday, September 28, from 6:00 – 7:00 pm; Zoom meeting will be sent out that day through Skyward emails. We would like to describe the precautions we have taken and the procedures scholars will follow while on campus daily.


According to CDC guidelines for opening schools, we will encourage preventative measures to reduce the risk of the spread of viruses including the following: require masks, take temperatures upon arrival, practice good hand hygiene with sanitizing stations, encourage respiratory etiquette, practice social distancing as much as possible, frequent cleaning/disinfecting, staggered class release, directional passing period, plexiglass barriers for lunch tables, good ventilation, water system for refillable water bottles only, appropriately address students or staff with symptoms or positive test results.
