Principal's Message

Dear Slaybaugh Families,

I hope you all enjoy a lovely Memorial Day Weekend. Keep in mind that school will be closed on Monday, May 31st. Make family plans to enjoy the EHT Memorial Day Parade and Remembrance Ceremony hosted by the Egg Harbor Township Veterans Advisory Board. The parade starts at 9:00 am at Mr. Airy and Zion continuing up to Veterans Memorial Park.

Our students will be enjoying a program on Thursday, June 3rd called Optimus Prime, "Rise Up Against Bullies". It will be held outside with social distancing. The presenters guarantee that it will be memorable and impactful experience for our students.

Just a few reminders as we are getting closer to ending this school year - Don’t forget all items left in Lost & Found will be donated. Reach out to your child’s teacher if you are missing anything or remind your child to look in the Lost & Found Box in the school's foyer.

We are also needing you to check around your house for any Slaybaugh library books. We want to make sure our library is ready to go and filled with books when we return. We are still missing many books!

Student Achievment

National Airplane Day

Mrs. Sansom's 3rd grade class celebrated National Airplane Day with a lesson on physics of what makes a paper airplane fly. They learned about the forces that effect how far an airplane made of paper will go. When the four forces of thrust, drag, lift and gravity are used in balance the paper airplane will fly longer. They topped off the lesson by making their own paper airplanes. Once they put them in flight, the three longest distances were Jaiden whose plane flew 34 feet, Jeremy with a distance of 24 feet, and Samantha and Angelo each had their planes fly 22 feet. All of the student did a great job "flying their airplanes!"

Virtual Field Trip to Disney World!

Mrs. Urbon's first grade class was thoroughly enjoying our virtual field trip of Disney World. Students chose which parks to visit and rides to explore. Here they are having fun with one of the roller coasters.

"Mail-a-Bear Project"

Ms. Widas and Mrs. Buccafurni-Tabasso's class finished their special Mail-a-Bear project. They made paper bears and mailed them out to family and friends. We can't wait for them to get mailed back to us so we can hear about their adventures and map out where they've been!
