Doc Talk

We have finished our first week of hexter 2! I would like to congratulate all of the students who made honor roll and perfect attendance last hexter. We appreciate all of the hard work and determination you have all put into your schoolwork here at Discovery.

Please know that next Friday is Phoenix Day! We need permission slips signed and returned by next Wednesday. Students will be going to the Pikes Peak Historical Street Railway Foundation.

On Thursday, October 17th, we will be going on a field experience to Denver to see Hamilton live at the Buell Theatre. Please note that we will have a late start at 11:00am that day and we expect to return by 7:00pm. Please make sure your student has transportation this day!

Next Tuesday is a mandatory attendance day! All students who come to school next Tuesday will receive something special for making sure they are at school all day.

And finally, we are planning our next family engagement night for hexter 2! It's going to be a

👻SPOOKY👻 occasion and we hope to see you and your families here! More information on this event will come soon...stay tuned 👀

Quarter 2 Night School Sign-Up

The sign-up window for Night School in Quarter 2 is open! There are two classes to choose from:

1) ASL (American Sign Language) with Mrs. Myers

October 21 - December 20
Monday-Thursday 4:30-6pm
1 Credit Earned

2) Parenting with Ms. Hagmaier

October 21 - December 20
Mondays & Wednesdays 6:15-7:45pm
0.5 Credit Earned

Voter Registration @ DHS

On Tuesday, two volunteers came to Discovery to get our students registered to vote! Congratulations to these students for taking the opportunity!

Robotics

Ms. Hagmaier is teaching Robotics this hexter! Students were asked to code their drone to fly in a specific pattern and land on a table in her classroom.

Honor Roll

We had 16 students in honor roll this hexter! That is our biggest batch of honor roll students thus far! Good job everyone 👏

CONAME Conference

CONAME, which stands for the Colorado Chapter of the National Association of Multicultural Educators held a national conference today in Denver where they were blessed with a very special appearance from one of our very own students, Ku'uipo!

This is a state conference in which educators from multiple levels of education come from all over the state- and some from out of state- to learn about multiculturalism in education.

Naomi presented on Hawaiian culture and performed three different hula dances! We are so proud to have Ku'uipo represent our school at this conference!

Foundations: Hexter 2

We have 15 new students joining us this hexter to start Foundations! They are beginning their Discovery adventure and learning about our culture. Check out these pictures of various activities this week - like Stepping Into the Circle!

This activity is crucial to our Foundations program because it is the third time students make the personal choice to be a part of our culture. Welcome to the Discovery Phoenix Family!
