December 2024
A Message From Principal Kilpatrick
Dear Highlander Families,
I hope everyone had a relaxing Thanksgiving break and enjoyed spending quality time with loved ones. The month of December is always a fast and furious month of learning with some holiday fun sprinkled in. There is so much happening on campus this month, please find the latest information below.
As the cold is upon us, feel free to stop by the lost and found to locate jackets, lunch boxes, water bottles and sweaters. :)
We are so fortunate to have such wonderful parent and community support. Thank you for a great first semester! Harvest Festival was fun for all students and such a wonderful tradition. What a wonderful way for our students to begin the Thanksgiving break. Thank you to all the volunteers who made this event special for our students. I would also like to thank our parent volunteer elves that came by the school to help decorate for the holidays. What a big task! The campus looks and feels so magical.
Thank you for being such an important part of what makes our school a wonderful place to be.
Wishing you and your loved ones a joyful, peaceful, and safe holiday filled with warmth and happiness.
Vicki Kilpatrick, Principal

Library News
Highlander Families,
I would like to extend a huge thank you to all parents that purchased items from the book fair. I wanted to thank all the volunteers that helped make the book fair a wonderful experience for all students. I truly couldn't have done it without your help!
As the holidays are quickly approaching, here's a message to all 3rd grade students from the Read to the Final Four regarding the Holiday Tournament:
Even though our fall reading challenge has wrapped up, the fun isn’t over yet! Get ready for the Holiday Reading Tournament! The Holiday Tournament is an optional, individual challenge for students who want to keep reading over the break. It’s a great way for kids to boost their personal scores and stay engaged out of the classroom. Dive into magical adventures or explore new worlds online as a way to stand out from your peers and be recognized as a Reading Leader!
With that being said, all Highlanders are encouraged to read over the Thanksgiving and Winter breaks. Students can log into their portal to access Lightbox Books, Comics Plus and SORA, which provide hundreds of electronic books for them to read.
Thank you!
Mrs. Mireles
