A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear SHS Parents and Guardians,
On behalf of the entire Sacred Heart School Family, I extend our most heartfelt congratulations to our 8th graders who recently received the Sacrament of Confirmation. This momentous occasion marks a significant step in our students' faith journey, and we are incredibly proud of their dedication and commitment to our Catholic Faith. Through hard work and preparation, they have deepened their understanding of our Faith and reaffirmed their commitment to following Christ.
A special thank you goes to Father John, Ms. Cooblall, Mrs. Kane and Mrs. Macrae. Their dedication in teaching and preparing our students for this sacrament is deeply appreciated. Together, we encourage our newly confirmed students to embrace the precious gifts bestowed upon them by the Holy Spirit, allowing these gifts to guide their lives in every way.
Congratulations once again! May your faith forever be an unwavering source of strength, comfort, and boundless joy.
Many Blessings,
Mrs. Joanna Barlow
Principal

HONOR ROLL CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Congratulations to those 6th, 7th, and 8th graders who achieved Honor Roll for the 2nd Trimester. Students will be awarded their certificate at our April 12th First Friday Mass. Those students who make the Honor Roll all Three Trimesters will be treated to a breakfast to celebrate their accomplishments. Congratulations and keep up the terrific work!
NEW RECESS EQUIPMENT
We're bursting with excitement to announce a fantastic addition to our school's recess fun! A huge thank you goes to Brooke and Riley Pulaski, the inspiring 7th-grade founders of "For the Love of Recess." Back in summer 2023, these dedicated sisters established this non-profit with a mission to bring joy to local Catholic schools by collecting simple recess equipment.
Earlier this week, Brooke and Riley dropped off four large bins overflowing with exciting new ways for our students to play and stay active during recess. Valued at over $1,400, the equipment includes everything from jump ropes to a giant parachute – perfect for sparking creativity and energetic fun.
We can't wait to see the smiles on our students' faces as they explore these new additions. If you'd like to learn more about or contribute to "For the Love of Recess" and their amazing work, visit their website at www.fortheloveofrecess.org.
HONOR BAND
Congratulations to Rhianna Roberts who was nominated and participated in the 2024 Northeastern Music Programs Honor Band. The Northeastern Honor Band is composed of students who love and are enthusiastic about making music. The Honor Band consists of over 80 students from 44 different schools in the greater Philadelphia area. This past Saturday, Rhianna performed at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Her nomination reflects the hard work and dedication she has for her instrument, and is evidence of the musical leadership and example she sets as a member of the SHS Band. We would like to congratulate Rhianna Roberts for this prestigious honor!
FITNESS FRIDAY
It's back! Mark Your Calendar, our next Fitness Friday is March 22. Participating students should meet at 7:25 at the Fairgrounds Plaza in Mount Holly near the Santander Bank. We will begin our walk down High Street at 7:30. Parents are invited to join us. If your child should miss the start of our walk please do not drop your child off on High Street, instead bring them directly to school. The class with the highest participation will win the "Golden Sneaker Award".
MARCH SERVICE
Throughout the month of March we continue to collect books for our Booksmiles Service Project. Families are asked to donate gently used books (no writing in the books) and we will deliver them to BookSmiles. Booksmiles.org helps to promote literacy and the joy of reading by giving books to Philadelphia and New Jersey children who need them most. Students can bring the books to their classroom teachers or the library for drop off.

CAR LINE SAFETY INFORMATION
Over the past few weeks, we have seen some reckless driving during drop off and pick up. In an effort to keep everyone safe, please read below and refresh yourselves with our drop off and pick up procedures.
CAR LINE TIPS ON ARRIVAL
Form 2 lanes. The right lane is for grades K-8, the left lane is for our Pre-K students. Families with students in both PreK and K-8 should stay in the right lane.
When arriving you will be greeted by Father John and myself. Please wait your turn in the car lanes. Once in the drop off area, have your child exit the car. K-8 students will be dropped off in front of the main gym doors. Pre-K will circle around and be dropped off in front of the church. Pre-K Parents please make sure to pull up to the Student Drop Off Ends Here sign so other cars can move in behind you. Our staff on duty will assist in making sure your children arrive safely to their classrooms.
Once you have dropped off your child/children please do not cut out of lane instead wait until the car in front of you moves to exit the campus. When exiting please be mindful that cars may turn in front of you to drop off at preschool or to exit the campus.
CAR LINE TIPS FOR PICK-UP
Form 2 lanes. In the interest of safety for your child/children and others:
Children will not be permitted to enter a car until the car is in front of the auditorium. Please pull all the way up to the "Drop off ends here" sign even if your child is standing in another place.
If one of the car lanes is moving, children must wait until the cars stop moving before going to their car. If you must exit your car to buckle seat belts, we ask that you use the lane closest to the auditorium. Please pick up your child as quickly as possible, being mindful of the extremely long line behind you. We are discouraged from blocking Clifton Avenue.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT
Giving Tuesday is a global day of generosity, when people make donations to all kinds of organizations. Tuesday, November 28 marked the 5th year SHS participated in this global day of giving. Giving Tuesday is not just about money, people can donate time, food and even parts of themselves. With this in mind, we saw Giving Tuesday as a teachable moment for our students. On Giving Tuesday our students pledged to give back by doing something good for others. We reinforced the idea that giving and kindness isn't about a day, it is a way to live our lives.
Sacred Heart School would like to thank all of those people who participated in our Giving Tuesday Campaign. If you missed out and would still like to participate in Giving Tuesday please click here or scan the QR code. Our Campaign runs throughout the school year. Your contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference. Your financial gift will directly contribute to offering the students of Sacred Heart School a dynamic, faith-filled, values centered curriculum that fosters creative thinkers and problem solvers. Thank you for being a part of the Giving Tuesday movement with us!
