Copeland Hoofbeat
October 19, 2017
From the Principal
It is hard to believe that it is already October! Now if the cool weather would come and stay, that would be a real treat!
Thank you all so much for your support of our first fundraiser through Great American. The students were so excited to collect the coops. We are raising money this school year to update our instructional materials to benefit all students.
There are so many awesome school events in October.
Red Ribbon Week will be October 23-27. There are some dress up days planned in addition to the important lessons students will be learning. We are so excited about our upcoming Field Days on October 24, 25, and 26. Please see the field day schedule in this edition of the Hoofbeat. The students are learning lots of new games in PE class and are ready to show off for you. PTO is hosting a Mummy Son Dance here at Copeland on October 27 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Should be lots of fun!
Please remember to send a note when you will have to pick your child up early for appointments. We want to have your children ready and waiting in the front office for you. Please remember that for your child’s safety, transportation changes are not made after 2:30 p.m.
Thanks as always for your support of Copeland!

Donations Needed!
We would like to decorate the cafeteria with various Halloween decorations for our Mummy-Son Dance, if you have any decorations that you want to get rid of please send them our way! If you like for us to just borrow them please label them and we will make sure they get back to you. Decorations can be dropped off at the front office. The deadline to drop them off is Thursday, October 26th. If you need them picked up you can send an email to kdean0923@sbcglobal.net to work out arrangements.
Thanks,
Copeland PTO
The Master Gardener needs your help!
Hello Copeland Parents:
It's that season where pine needles are falling everywhere. The Master Gardener would like to take advantage of people's unwanted pine needles to use for mulch for the garden. Donations can be sat in the garden close to the pergola.
From the Nurse
Dear Parents,
Please contact the clinic if you would like to be certified to assist in the vision and hearing screenings. The certification lasts 5 years. A tentative date is 10/30/17 at the Berry Center. Copeland needs you!
Thank you,
