Winter Season Highlights
The winter sports season was filled with remarkable achievements and standout performances across multiple teams.
Wrestling showcased its dominance by capturing the conference championship and securing an impressive third-place finish at the state level as a team. Several athletes delivered outstanding individual performances at the State Tournament, earning top placements in their respective weight classes:
- Austin Hagevold (113 lbs.) β 2nd Place
- Brayden Teunissen (120 lbs.) β State Champion π
- Andrew Alvarado (138 lbs.) β 4th Place
- Vance Williams (150 lbs.) β 2nd Place
- Jimmy Mastny (190 lbs.) β State Champion π
Girls Basketball continued its strong tradition, finishing the season above .500 and earning an impressive third-place finish in the conference. Although their postseason run ended in a hard-fought regional semifinal loss to Aurora Central Catholic, the team had much to celebrate. A major milestone was reached as Juliette Huff surpassed 1,000 career points, cementing her legacy in the program.
Boys Basketball experienced a season of highs and lows but displayed tremendous resilience and determination. They finished the season on a strong note, battling eventual regional champion Byron in a thrilling contest that went down to the wire. Their grit and perseverance were on full display, proving their competitive spirit.
Fencing also had a successful season, with several of our student-athletes earning top placements across multiple events. Their dedication and skill were evident throughout the winter, as they continued to excel and represent our school with pride.
Congratulations to all our athletes and coaches for an incredible winter season! Your hard work, passion, and perseverance continue to make us proud!

CollegeStock 2025
Marian Central Catholic is excited to be hosting CollegeStock 2025 next week (March 10-14) during lunch in the cafeteria. CollegeStock 2025 is an opportunity for all our students to interact with colleges, universities, and military branches in a relaxed environment.
Representatives will have tables set up in the cafeteria during both lunch periods. They will have information to provide to interested students, can answer questions about their campuses or academic programs and student life opportunities, or can assist seniors with next steps in the process.
No matter what year your son or daughter is, please encourage them to stop by their favorite colleges/military branches, or all of them, to get more information. If they don't want to talk to the representatives, that is ok, they can feel free to just grab information and go. But this is the only opportunity for our freshmen to gather information and talk directly with the reps, as well as for our sophomores, juniors, and seniors to do so without having to miss a class.
