Celebrations
As we approach the end of the 1st semester, we have several exciting events lined up that we want to make sure you’re aware of! There’s a lot happening in the next two months, so mark your calendars for these special school activities:
Veterans Day Parade
We are honored to celebrate Veterans Day with a special Veterans Parade on Monday, Nov. 11th. We encourage all families to join us in showing appreciation for the brave men and women who have served our country. Students will have the opportunity to watch the parade, and we’d love to have our school community come together for this important occasion. If you or someone you know is a veteran, please let them know – we’d be thrilled to have them join the parade!
Quarterly Behavior Bash – December
As part of our commitment to fostering positive behavior, we will be holding our Quarterly Behavior Bash in December! This fun event is a reward for students who have demonstrated outstanding behavior (HEART of the YellowJacket) throughout the quarter. It’s a wonderful opportunity for students to celebrate their achievements and enjoy some fun activities together. More details about the Bash will be shared as we get closer, but we’re looking forward to recognizing all the hard work our students have put in.
Upcoming Events
In addition to these events, we have several other activities happening. Stay tuned for more information about school performances, community engagement opportunities, and classroom celebrations!
We’re excited for all of the learning, fun, and celebrations ahead! Thank you for your continued support of our school community.

EEE Staff Shout Out
Our staff at East End Elementary continue to work together to create a nurturing environment for our children and we want to give you the opportunity to take a moment to recognize their incredible dedication and hard work.
If you have a moment, we encourage you to send a staff shout-out. We will get the shout-out to the staff member.
Let’s celebrate the amazing individuals who contribute so much to our children’s growth and happiness.
Items to Remember:
- Want to eat lunch with your child? We have a limited number of seats, so you are required to call the office to reserve a specific date and spot. 501.888.4262
- Please try and send all lunch and snacks with your student in the morning rather than bring to the office for us to deliver.
- You MUST have your student car tag in order to pick up your child. (Handbook-pg.68)
- You can purchase ONE additional car tag in the office for $1.00.
- Parents must stay in their vehicle in the carline. We have staff to assist students. When stopped, students should open their car door and have all items ready to get out in the morning. If you have a child safety lock on your door, please ask for help opening the door.
- When staff start to close the morning gate at 8am, we will not re-open it. You must check your student in the front office after 8am.
- For the afternoon carline, we encourage you to work on your child buckling themselves. If they cannot, please pull up to the front parking lot after they get into your vehicle to buckle them. This helps our carline work more efficiently.
- If at all possible, please have your student's car seat on the passenger side. It is safer for staff and students if all students enter and exit the vehicle from the passenger side.

Parent Information About Arkansas' New State-Wide Assessment System
ATLAS Interims to be given in January
Arkansas law (Act 930 of 2017) requires the administration of a developmentally appropriate measurement or assessment for kindergarten through grade two (K-2) in literacy and mathematics. Beginning in the 2024-2025 school year, ATLAS, or Arkansas Teaching and Learning Assessment System, will be administered. The ATLAS K-2 assessment is intended to be administered three times during the school year so that educators can make data-driven instructional decisions. This will help inform teachers of students that require remediation, intervention and/or enrichment. Each test is an adaptive type test, and students are not expected to know all of the test items.
Local Screener: these are short assessments given to students to assist teachers in understanding the students' level in math and literacy.
ATLAS Screener: these assessments are required by DESE for all K-3 students attending a public school and are given early in the school year. (Finished ours end of Sept.)
ATLAS Interim: these are assessments given to all students at set intervals (fall & winter) to assess student progress toward the end-of-the-year goal attainment of grade-level standards. (Starting in January)
