Memorial Garden at Ruby Bridges Elementary
As a community, we have experienced profound loss with the passing of two beloved educators from our school family. In their memory, we are embarking on a heartfelt project to create a memorial garden at our school—a space of reflection and remembrance.
Additionally, parents have united to support the family of Mrs.Morrison, as she leaves behind her husband and two young children—an 8-year-old son and 5-year-old daughter. As parents of children the same age, we empathize with their challenges and want to extend our community's support to them.
How You Can Help:
1. Memorial Garden Fund: Join our school community and PTSA in creating a lasting tribute by contributing to the memorial garden fund. Your donations will support the purchase of plants, garden rocks, plaques, and maintenance expenses. Donations made to our nonprofit PTSA are tax-deductible and eligible for corporate matching programs.
2. Support for Mrs Morrison’s Family: RB parents have launched a GoFundMe campaign to assist the Morrison family. Additionally, we've curated a wishlist for care packages filled with items like books, arts & crafts, and favorite toys. If you'd like to donate experiences such as zoo passes and children's museum gift cards, those can be delivered to the school (attn: Rosa) to be added to the care packages.
Join us in honoring the memories of our educators and supporting the Morrison family during this challenging time. Together, we can create spaces of love and support that reflect the spirit of our community.
With heartfelt gratitude,
The Ruby Bridges Elementary School Community
