Following Our Compass October 2024
Dear Families
We have been busy on campus as the weather has finally begun to feel a little like Fall.
Upon returning from Fall Break our teachers were busy with Professional Development. All K-6 and English Arts Teachers spent the day learning and investigating our new Language Arts Curriculum, Savvas. All the other teachers were engaged in a Professional Development on Rigor Across the Content Areas. We encourage families to ask their students about what they are learning and thoughts on our new curriculum this school year.
On Friday, October 18th we held a K-8 Leader in Me Assembly, thank you to Mr. Peterson and Mr. Garland for putting this together. Our K-3 students were so excited to share how they have put the Habits into action! Our 4-8 students did class presentations on each of the Habits, it was great to see them so engaged and excited to present to the school.
- Habit 1 - To Be Proactive
- Habit 2 - Begin With the End in Mind
- Habit 3 - Put First Things First
- Habit 4 - Think Win-Win
- Habit 5 - Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood
- Habit 6 - Synergize
- Habit 7 - Sharpen the Saw
- Habit 8 - Find Your Voice
In sports news we are excited to announce that Dragon Football has two regular season games left with a 7-0 record! Come out on October 30th for our last home game, this game will also be our Homecoming and Senior Night. Girls Volleyball has a 5-8 record with one regular season game to play! They are all so close to making post-season! Their last game is this Thursday at Imagine - Superstition.
Our K-6 students are getting excited for our Annual Trick-or-Treat Parade. We are still collecting donations of Halloween Candy for the event. Please bring any donations to campus by Monday, October 28th.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Lay, Campus Principal
