The Eagle's Eye:🦅 Soaring News
February 7, 2025
At THE Willowridge High School we SOAR with excellence in Class and Character.
We celebrate our Excellence in academics, athletics, arts, and service.
We believe in the possibilities; and Eagle PRIDE never dies.
Hello Eagle Families,
Happy February! Our month is off to a busy start with lots of Eagle Pride with our athletic programs. Girls and Boys' soccer is off to a great start. Both teams play with so much grit, heart and hustle, I love watching them play! Baseball and softball are starting their scrimmages and will be in full swing before long. Track is off and running literally--our girls' team had a FANTASTIC outing this week.
Also the Lady Eagle Basketball team are the UNDEFEATED District Champions! We are so proud of them! The will begin their play off run next week. We are waiting on more information from other districts, but should have an announcement this weekend about who we play and where the game will be. It is definitely an exciting time for our Eagles.
I must also mention our Academic Decathlon team. They are the 3 time district champion and placed 2nd at Regionals this year. They put in so much time and effort preparing--it is great to see their excellence in academics.
Truly I am so proud of all our Eagles. They show GRIT and resilience every day. They excel in so many ways so many folks don't see and it makes our school community a better place!
As always, thank you for your support of your child and of Willowridge High School!

Front Office Reminders
Our goal is always to offer our parents and community a positive experience when you visit Willowridge. Here are a few reminders to help your visit be positive:
- The student early pick up cut off time is 2:20pm.
- An ID is needed each time parents/guardians pick up a student early or have an in-school parent meeting.
- No outside food is allowed to be delivered for students. This includes parent drop off, Door Dash or other food delivery services.
Student IDs
Student ID Reminders
All Fort Bend ISD and Willowridge High students are required to have their student ID on their person at all times. Please make sure your child has an ID and keeps up with it. Our students have done a great job keeping their IDs "OUT, ON, and VISIBLE" through the late fall and as we start the new semester. Please help us by reminding your child to wear their ID
There are several important things to know about the ID processes at WHS.
1. Students must have their ID to ride the bus
2. Students must have their ID in the breakfast/lunch line. We no longer have the touch key pads, so students are using ID to note they have received a meal.
3. Safety. IDs allow us to identify students in the building.
If they do not have their school issued ID, they will check in upon arrival at school and receive a temporary ID. For those who continue to need a temporary ID, we will begin issuing consequences of detention. Also, if your child has lost their ID, they can scan the QR code at the door when they check in. They will have the opportunity to get a new ID at lunch. There is a $5.00 replacement fee for lost IDs.
Attendance Office Reminders
The attendance office is requesting that all medical notes for the month of January be submitted as soon as possible. As a friendly reminder, all parent notes and medical notes must be submitted within 5 days of the absence.
Please submit all notes to ATTENDANCEWHS@FORTBENDISD.GOV
Please also remember our annual goal for attendance is 92%. We are currently at 91.15% so just right there.
Part of our attendance focus is students being to class on time. That includes 1st period. We have a number of students who arrive late to first period daily. Students who arrive after 7:50 are counted absent for the period. The impact that has for students is 1) not being in class for instruction 2) running the risk of not getting credit for the class if they have too many absences. Please help us by encouraging and reminding your child of the importance of being here and being on time.
