Titans' Times
Week of Oct. 14-18, 2024
Thanksgiving Message from the School Leadership
This week in our morning prayers, we've focused on the meaning of gratitude—both to God and to one another. We’ve encouraged our students to reflect on the importance of being thankful. As the administrators of Legal School, we feel truly blessed to be part of this wonderful community. We are deeply grateful for the support of our parents, whose dedication creates a nurturing environment for our students to thrive.
This Thanksgiving, let’s celebrate the connections we’ve built together. We wish you and your families a joyful holiday filled with love and gratitude.

Topic: Mental Illness Awareness Week
This week is Mental Illness Awareness Week - a week dedicated to promoting the awareness and impact mental illness can have on individuals’ overall health. This year in our classrooms, we shared stories of our Kimochis friends, Bella Rose, Bug, and Cat and how they experienced the harder-to-have feelings of anxiety and worry in different situations. Bug experienced anxiety and worry as they were starting at a new school - a situation that applies to starting a new grade or switching schools (or, for us adults, new jobs or moving homes). Cat experienced frustration and anxiety with things not going the way they planned and things not being done the way they wanted. Lastly, Bella Rose experienced panic, anxiety, and dysregulation due to stressful life events, but it was her messy bin that was the trigger of distress.
As parents, do you see how these situations can also apply to our adult lives? Emotions are with us our entire lives, and while the situations may be different, you may also experience similar situations causing feelings of anxiety. When you start a new job, when people are not listening to you and you want things done a certain way, or when a space in your house is disorganized and you want it to be tidy and visually appealing.
All of these situations and emotions are acceptable, but what is important is how we handle the distress. Our Kimochis friends had affirmations to help them get through challenging moments. Feel free to use these next time you’re in a stressful situation, or use them with your children!
