High School Summer School Changes
The Calvert County Public Schools (CCPS) High School Summer School Program provides students with the opportunity to recover credit for courses they failed during the school year. It allows students to demonstrate their knowledge of the curriculum and skills necessary to be successful in subsequent courses. Below are the expectations of the program:
High School Summer School Framework:
- Summer school will last for 16 days. Students may miss no more than two days without losing credit.
- This curriculum will focus on essential content and skill development. APEX will not be used for Summer School Review Courses, and there will be no "testing out" option.
- Students may take a maximum of two summer school courses.
- Online courses (from the specified list of online classes – things like Health 1, Health 2, Financial Lit, Foundations of Computer Science, etc) may be taken for original or review credit. These courses will require synchronous Teams meetings on the dates listed in the 2025 Summer School Brochure.
*** IMPORTANT: CCPS will NOT be providing student transportation for high school summer school.
