July Camps for Kids

AASD Summer Food Program

August 22 - First Day of School

Summer Office Hours will be 7:00 am - 3:30 pm. Lunch varies daily.

AASD is offering FREE summer camps to AASD children in grades K-5 during the 2023- 2024 school year. Join us for a fun filled summer with exciting camps that are geared toward student interest while learning!

All Camps for Kids camps will run from Monday - Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. at the designated locations. Children from any AASD school can attend any camp location.

Children will be provided with lunch daily. Transportation is not provided.

Families can select one week or both weeks. Check out the attached menu to make your selections by using the link below or scanning the QR Code.

All camps will be filled on a first come first serve basis. Sign up by June 14th using the link below or call the school office for assistance. You will be notified of your entry by June 21st.

The following items are in place for the safety of all children and staff and faculty.

Everyone must follow these guidelines.

1. Arrival begins at 9:00 am.

2. Dismissal begins at 3:20. Vehicles may not park in line before 3:05. The Columbia Drive gate will be unlocked at 3:15.

3. Vehicles will enter from either Cayuga Aveune (main entrance) or Columbia Drive (back gate).

· The back gate will be open during parent drop off and pick up ONLY.

· Please take turns and form one line at the Columbia Drive gate.

· All cars must exit onto Cayuga Avenue.

4. ALL STUDENTS must enter and exit through the passenger side doors of the vehicle. Please be proactive and prepare your vehicle to receive students from the passenger side.

5. ONLY STUDENTS may exit the vehicle. Adults and older students must stay in the vehicle. Exiting the vehicle causes the entire line to slow considerably.

6. Columbia Drive gate is ENTRANCE ONLY during arrival and dismissal. Please keep our staff and students safe and follow this guideline.

7. Be sure to complete and return Private Car Permission forms. ID cards containing your child’s last name will be distributed. THE LINE WILL MOVE FASTER if staff can read the

card from your car. Please display the card all year long.

8. Walkers only will be dismissed from the front doors. You may not park in the parking lot and walk to the front door to get your private car rider at dismissal nor to drop them off at arrival. Parents may not park and enter the school for an early dismissal to avoid our school's private car pick-up line.

9. It is very difficult to safely process early dismissals after 3:00. Please consider waiting for regular dismissal rather than requesting an early dismissal after 3:00.

Please follow the directions of any school personnel who may be assisting with private car procedures. EVERYONE’S cooperation is needed to make arrival and dismissal safe and efficient. All adult visitors to the school will be required to show ID to enter.

Please be aware that you will be asked to produce ID when picking up a child from school for early dismissal, appointments, or late pick-ups. We do not want to inconvenience anyone by making them return home to get their ID and then drive back to the school, but we will inconvenience you to protect our students.

When visiting our school, please expect to pass through a metal detector or to be wanded. All visitors must have photo ID.

For schoolwide daytime events:

• All visitors will enter through a metal detector and/or a wand may be used.
• No bags will be permitted.
• Please plan ahead and arrive early. There will be a delay at the door. We appreciate your patience as we prioritize the safety of all Pleasant Valley students, families, and employees.
• We recommend pre-registering. If you have already been entered into School Gate Guardian (our red box) on a previous visit and you have pre-registered, your entrance will be quicker.
• All visitors must have ID for entry.
