From the Principal
Hello, William Tennent Families:
Thank you to all of you who joined us for Back to School Night. Our teachers enjoyed meeting with families and it was a pleasure to see so many of you here. Believe it or not, we have already reached the midpoint of the first marking period and progress reports are available in Skyward. Most of our students at WTHS continue to make good academic progress and engage in many extracurricular offerings. If your student isn’t making the progress you expect, please encourage them to meet with their teachers and ask for help. Each day during all lunch periods, the Panther Writing Lab and Panther Math Lab are available to students for academic assistance. There are also after school opportunities for academic assistance with teachers during office hours and student tutors, as well.
We have over 300 students in our WTHS Student Government this year, as well as many new faces in our numerous clubs and activities. Congratulations to our newly elected class officers who will lead our students through the 2023-24 school year. Our marching band, cheerleaders, and robotics teams will soon be entering competition season. We are excited to celebrate Homecoming this month and look forward to many of our alumni returning to WTHS. Good luck to all of our candidates for Homecoming king and queen. Later this month, we will host Induction into the National Honor Society, and the fall play, The Greek Mythology Olympiaganza, will take place at the beginning of November.
There are great opportunities to grow and learn at William Tennent every day! We encourage you to stay connected with us by visiting the WTHS webpage, following us on social media, and reading the messages sent through our eAlert system. Thank you, as always, for your support for William Tennent High School.
Take care and be well,
Dr. Henrich

A commended student demonstrates outstanding potential for academic success. These students represent a valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation. We are so proud of Kevin and Daniel and all they have achieved at WTHS!

Philadelphia Phoenix Ultimate Frisbee team visits WTHS
On Wednesday, September 27th, the Philadelphia Phoenix visited the William Tennent Panthers. The Philadelphia Phoenix is Philadelphia's sole professional ultimate frisbee team and a member of the American Ultimate Disc League. The students were taught about the rules and techniques of the game by the pros. Thank you to the Philadelphia Phoenix for providing a fun and successful event.
Writing Lab Workshops assist students
Mentors from the writing lab assisted students in the Pathways Course with strategies for writing their college essays. Ms. Leahy and Mrs. Christine work with 5 upperclassmen during 3rd periods to provide writing assistance to anyone in the school. All students are welcome to come to the library during their lunch to get assistance with projects, essays, resumes, and more!
New Panther Math Lab is now open
While many people are aware that the writing lab, which is going on its 5th year of operation, is available to students during 3rd period for assistance with writing projects, assignments and essays, we are excited to announce that a "sister station" exists in the form of the Panther Math Lab. Students can go to the library during their lunch period to eat and get assistance with math assignments, be tutored in concepts that aren't quite connecting, or receive help in preparation for a test. Mrs. Martin and Mr. Smith, along with eight student mentors, are enthusiastic and willing to help students be more successful. The Math Lab has been very busy. We're glad to see so many students taking advantage of this resource!
Winners of the Library's Name that Barbie contest
Congratulations to Bobby Charlton and Logan Myers for winning the "Name that Barbie" contest sponsored by the WTHS Library. With 16 out of 21 correct, they certainly were "Kenough".
