Did You Know...
The district has 120 vehicles, 67 are buses, which require maintenance and service. They are regularly inspected by the State Patrol. However, on occasion, there are surpise vists. This year, we are operating with one less mechanic.
A huge shout out to our YCS mechanics, Scott Peaslee and David Hayward, who achieved 100% success on the surprise inspection which covered critical components like brake efficiency, air systems, steering and suspension, student load lights, and more. We are proud of their high quality work and commitment they have to keeping our students and staff safe.
Thank you to those who attended the first forum last night. Many more to come!
Forums will be in person; however, a ZOOM link is provided to watch remotely. All events are posted on our levy website calender along with other levy information. Continue to monitor the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) as we move forward and respond to community comment.
Come learn about the levy and ask questions!
Thank you to all families who has started to use the Skyward Online Absence Reporting Tool. We have received a few questions. Here are some tips.
Q: Where are the instructions on how to use Skyward to report my child's absence?
A: On our websites under "FAMILY RESOURCE", you can access many Skyward Family Access resources.
Q: How long do I have to report an absence?
A: We recommend reporting as soon as possible, but you have the full school year to make corrections.
Q: Can I access Family Access on my phone?
A: Yes, there is a mobile app. But you must login to your account online before you can download and login to the app.
Q: When will schools stop accepting absence notification by phone or email?
A: Starting January 6, 2025, staff will stop monitoring phone and emails for excusing attendance.
Bringing Learning to Life
Financial Reality Fair
When surveyed 100% of the students said they would recommend a friend give it a try. As Suzanne Klenk of WSECU shared, "Create a foundation for your future by making informed decisions." Thank you WSECU and local community members who made this event possible.
Scooter City
"Scooter City" is a long standing tradition at Prairie Elementary where students engage in pretend play by playing house, running a business, learning road/traffic safety and learning how to exchange money. Pretend play is beneficial for elementary students as it helps strengthen important developmental skills. Scooter City helps students practice social skills, cooperation, communication and encourages them to use problem solving skills.
Prairie Panthers look forward to this and remember for a lifetime, ask an alumni. This year brought some challenges but volunteers stepped up and adjustments were made in the school schedule so that all students were able to participate.
