Guardians on Elementary Campuses
Starting Sept. 14, you will begin to see new friendly faces on elementary campuses, dressed in brightly colored uniforms that are sure to catch your attention. Introducing… LISD’s new Campus Guardians!
As the district fills all 50 open positions and they each complete their required district and state training, you will see a Guardian on every elementary campus on a daily basis.
If you’ve been keeping up with the Superintendent of Schools Dr. Lori Rapp’s monthly newsletters, you know that Lewisville ISD has recently implemented the LISD Guardian program in response to a requirement by the state that all schools in Texas must have at least one armed security personnel on campus.
For more details regarding this program and background information, visit LISD.net/safety.

Bond Election and a Voter Approval Tax Rate Ratification Election (VATRE)
This fall, the Lewisville ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously to include a Bond Election and a Voter Approval Tax Rate Ratification Election (VATRE) on the November 7 ballot. Registered voters residing within Lewisville ISD boundaries will be asked to consider a total of seven propositions that would generate additional funding to support educational programs and conduct maintenance, repairs and renovations across the district. If voters approve all six bond propositions, totaling $1.23B, and the VATRE, the total tax rate will be 10.6 cents lower than last year’s tax rate.
Make sure you are registered to vote by October 10th. Lewisville ISD residents will vote on the propositions during Early Voting, beginning October 23rd through November 3rd, and on Election Day, Tuesday, November 7th.

Wellington's Check Writing Campaign
We are so excited to announce that Wellington Elementary’s second annual Check Writing Campaign is off to a great start! As of September 5th, we have raised $3,9700!!! WOO HOOO! Wristbands were given to the students and families that have participated so far! All of our Wildcats enjoyed popsicles today since we have passed the 2,500.00 mark! We are only $1,000 away from our next celebration of having a movie and popcorn party for every classroom!
We could not do all that we do without your generous support, and we greatly value your partnership in your child’s education. Thank you!
