May Character Trait
The character trait for the month of May is Trustworthiness. Trustworthiness is caring about what you say and do so others will trust you. All character traits are essential and trustworthiness is no exception. Without trust, many other character traits are affected such as respect and responsibility. Check out this link from PBS kids regarding tips for raising trustworthy kids.

CHARACTER TRAIT OF THE MONTH KINDNESS
During the month of April we are working on the character trait of Kindness. Kindness is showing others they are valuable by how we treat them. Words are important, but actions speak louder than words. Please talk with your child about how they can do random acts of kindness every day. Kindness takes practice, so practice often.

Updating the office
Please remember if you move or change your phone number, it is very important to update the office. A new proof of residence will be needed if you change addresses. GHES needs to be able to contact families for many reasons and it is a safety issue when we are unable to contact anyone. Also, please remember to update any emergency contacts that may have changed. Please email Kelly Catterton at kmcatterton@smcps.org
Car Riders
Please be in line for Morning Drop-off by 9:00. We start unloading students at 8:55.
Please do not let students out of the car until a GHES staff member is there to assist. Morning drop-off will end at 9:05, you will need to drop off in the office once the GHES staff is no longer at drop-off.
School Year 2024-2025: The SMCPS Calendar Committee is seeking input in the development of the 2024-2025 school year calendar. https://bit.ly/SMCPS24calendar
