August Principal's Pride Award Winners
Each month our teachers select one child per grade level to be a Principal's Pride Award winner. These students are consistently role models for others by being respectful, responsible and ready to learn. Please join me in congratulating our August winners.
A Message about School Safety
Our collective hearts go out to all those affected by the recent school shooting at Apalachee High School. Please know that Fulton County Schools, along with our municipal partners, are deeply committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment for our students and staff. During difficult times like these, it's important to lean on one another for support, and we encourage anyone in need to seek assistance.
Since Wednesday, our communities have also been impacted by social media posts that are disruptive and dangerous. I want to remind our students and the public in general that making specific threats on social media will be investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
If you see or hear a threat, report it to local law enforcement immediately. Notify authorities
but don’t share or forward the threat until law enforcement has had a chance to investigate. I want us all to practice this easy phrase – report do not repost.
If you are interested in learning more about the safety process and procedures we have in place. Click here to learn more about the FCS Culture of Safety.
Progress Reports - Friday
The first progress report of the year will be available for viewing in Campus Parent on Friday morning at 8:00 am. This is a 4.5 progress report of the first semester. Please remember there are not many grades at this time of the year which can result in extreme grades (high or low). Course averages accumulate throughout the semester with the final grade coming at the end of the semester. As always, we encourage you to check Campus Parent frequently to review your child's grades.

Science Force Volunteer Sign Up
Our Science Force team of parents are hard at work getting the labs ready for our classes. Science Force labs are a PTO sponsored program, offering hands-on labs that parallel the classroom curriculum.
You do not need to be a scientist to volunteer. We need parents to supervise students and remind them of the directions.
You can find your student's class and sign up to volunteer here --> https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C094EA5AF2FA5F4C25-51157733-wces#/

Responsibility and Care of Student Devices
As we continue to integrate technology into our classrooms, we have taught students how to care for their devices properly. We have informed them of their responsibility to take care of their assigned laptop or iPad, and teachers regularly reinforce these processes in the classroom.
Please note that families are financially responsible for damage intentionally or carelessly done to student devices. We ask that you partner with us and remind your child to take care of their FCS-issued devices. The fines are as follows: $100 for a damaged device, $250 for a lost device, and $30 for lost or damaged accessories. To help avoid these costs, please review device care with your child: always hold the laptop with two hands, keep it closed while walking, avoid storing pencils or pens inside the laptop, only use it for school-assigned work, and refrain from eating or drinking near the laptop.
Additional tips & FAQs are listed in the attached flyer. Thank you for your attention to this important matter!
