Dear FMS Families,

I hope you enjoyed a restful week last week with your children. Our students returned on Monday and so very smoothly re-entered school routines! It was lovely to see so many smiling faces back at school.

With the weather now really feeling like winter, please remind your child to dress appropriately for recess. That includes snow pants, jackets, hats, boots and waterproof gloves. And on that note- please be sure that your child’s belongings are labeled. Our lost and found (see below) is filling up and we want to make sure students go home with what they bring to school. Thank you for your cooperation with this - your happy and warm children thank you, too!

Our lost and found is overflowing! Our fourth grade student council is going to be presenting a plan for getting items back to their owners at our next schoolwide meeting. Some of their ideas are:

• Labeling all belongings

• Being aware of what you are wearing each day

• Checking the lost and found when you misplace something

FMS Lost and Found Photos

On Tuesday, 12/3, we practiced a relocation drill to Essex Middle School. Our students did an excellent job following not only our schoolwide expectations but our safety drill expectations as well. If you want to know more about safety procedures in EWSD, please visit our District Safety website.

We are having our second annual family BINGO event at FMS on Thursday, January 16th, from 6:30-7:30 pm. Please fill out the form below if you are interested in coming! We are looking forward to having many families join us.

We are excited to invite you to our Winter Chorus Concert on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at 7:00 pm in the school cafeteria. Please have your student arrive by 6:50 pm to ensure they are ready for the performance. For concert dress, we ask students to wear something a bit "fancy," with no specific color requirements.
