Minnesota students encouraged to complete FAFSA as soon as possible!
Minnesota students who plan to attend college in fall 2024 are highly encouraged to complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible. Across the nation and statewide, FAFSA filing numbers are down compared to previous years.
This decreasing statistic comes at a time when more students than ever will qualify for Federal Pell Grants and be able to access game changing state financial aid programs, including the North Star Promise, the new scholarship program offering a tuition- and fee-free pathway for eligible students whose families make less than $80,000 per year.
For assistance with the FAFSA, Federal Student Aid offers students and families the ability to call, email or live chat on their Contact Center webpage.

New: UPCOMING COLLEGE AND UNIVERSITY VISITS
Students should stop by the Counseling Office and get a pass to attend the college/university/military Rep Visit prior to the right visit. The visits are small group meetings typically lasting 20/30 minutes. These admission reps are often times the same people that review college applications, so it's a great connection for students.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL
All 5 Lightning boys volleyball teams were in action this weekend. The varsity boys went 4-1 at the St. Paul Johnson tournament. The team was undefeated through pool play, then lost a hard fought battle with STMA in the championship after coming from behind to beat Irondale in the semifinals. The team’s record moves to 16-2 on the season. The boys have two key conference matchups this week, heading to Burnsville Tuesday night before returning home on Thursday to host Eagan. Come support your Lightning boys as they continue their quest for the state tournament in June.
The Bolts Boys JV team went undefeated at the Johnson tournament, including a fun rematch with North St. Paul in the championship. The boys look to continue their winning ways against Burnsville and Eagan this week.
Eastview was the host for a mid-season JV2 tournament, which brought 13 teams in to compete with our three younger teams. The Lightning Black team went 3-2 on the day, winning the bronze bracket, and the JV2 white team battled hard through pool play, finishing in the consolation bracket. The JV2 Blue team had a great day, winning their pool and then advancing through the championship bracket to win the tournament.
Congrats to all the boys on a great weekend!
