The new GET HELP support site
- If it asks for your staff ID, don't be startled. It is the same as your number in Q, and if you don't know what that is, just choose "I don't know" and move past
- When you get those automated emails from the site telling you if it is in progress, resolved, closed, etc, PLEASE OPEN THOSE! Sometimes, we have questions or instructions and we can leave those in the ticket, which show in the email, so just peek and see.
- You can reply to the email and it will send the person working on your ticket the response.
- Your STUDENTS can create tickets, too, by signing in with their Google Account. If you are going to share this idea with them, please coach them in what to say. "Google Classroom doesn't work" is really hard to support. :) There are videos to help families on ipads (eng and span) and Chromebook versions are coming literally as soon as possible.
What the bottom line? The tl:dr, if you will? Submit tickets when you need help, open the ticket emails to see if there is a personal comment, and reply to those emails at any time. We are nice people in the tech department. We want to help.

Mobile Device Refresh time!
So, here we are! It is device refresh time. If you fall into one of these three categories, this is for you
- Category 1--- you are new and don't have a mobile device (an iPad or a Chromebook)
- Category 2--- you have an iPad that won't update to iOS 13 and apps aren't working like they should
- Category 3--- your have any iPad, but realize you want to trade it for a staff Chromebook
Listen, it probably won't surprise you that we don't have a stock of these sitting around. We are going to order for this need in a few weeks. If you need a mobile device refresh, take a minute to fill out the form, because we only know to order something for you if you tell us. After that, all bets are off and we will do the best we can, but you might have to wait for the next order.
So, do this before next Monday (Sept. 28) and we will wait for a special ipad and Chromebook delivery to get you all refreshed!

Videos to support student tech use
These are also posted on the Fall 2020 site in the Tech Services section for our families.
There are YouTube links to the English and Spanish videos you can copy and share with students/families. But I also have the links to the screenshot Google Slides there. Maybe you want to make your own Screencastify video, or make a copy of the slides and add something specific to your students.
Y'all, I hope that is helpful. Bookmark this Doc, or add it to your Drive (don't make a copy of it, click the little Drive icon with the + by the name of the Doc when you open it--- that way you will see when I update it with new videos)
Can I just acknowledge, it would have been so awesome to have this done mid August... like so many things you probably have going on that are a work in progress, too. I'm here to encourage you to share your "works in progress" with your students, don't wait until you have things all done and figured out. Thanks for your patience. I'm cheering you on, too!

Speaking of videos---
I know EnVision made some changes over the summer and might look a bit different, we are figuring it out. Remember, those Collaborative Google Classrooms are made for... collaboration. Post your questions in there and together, we can all piece things together. It is true that "the smartest person in the room is the room". The Collaborative Google Classrooms are meant to help piece the puzzle together collaboratively.
Webinars
LEARNING A-Z
Click here for the "Getting Started" webinar this Wed 9/23-- I'll be there, too-- but here is the page of all of the webinars offered. Maybe you want to know more about Foundational skills, or how to reach intermediate learners. There is a webinar for that!
WONDERS
Here is the page of Wonders Webinars. There is one on Wed, 9/23 and Thurs. 10/1 that will show how to use Wonders in the Remote Learning classroom. There is actually a recording of the webinar there if you want to watch at a time convenience for you.
SAVVAS REALIZE (formerly EnVision)
They have a page of on-demand tutorials to view. The Google Classroom offerings at the bottom of the list might be just the thing for 3rd-5th teachers.
I will keep letting you know about webinars. I know the adopted curriculum is a little bit of a learning curve because most of you were using the "face to face" options more than the tech options, of course. But here we are! We will figure it out.

Attention TK-2 teachers
Seesaw---
I know many of you use Google Slides with links in them, but when you share the slides in Seesaw, the links aren't working as expected. Here is what our Seesaw rep says: "Unfortunately, at this time, Seesaw does not support the ability to preserve hyperlinks when importing files from Google. The suggested workaround:
For a PDF--- have students open the post by clicking "View Original" to access the PDF
For Google Slides--- have students open the post by clicking "View in Google" to visit the slides directly and click links.
Happy Numbers---
This is ready for your as a math asynchronous option. Students should see Happy Numbers in Clever, and when they click it, they will be taken into Safari to get to work, starting with a quick placement questionnaire. You are receiving emails directly from Happy Numbers with more info, but turn to the Collaborative Google Classroom with questions and you can help each other there!
