Huddle Up!
What is huddle anyway?
During the 1st Six Weeks Huddle Classes focused on Respect Agreements where students identified what respect to students and teachers looks like, what teachers respecting students looks like, and finally what all Wildcats respecting the campus looks like. These agreements are all signed and posted in every classroom and will be referred back to throughout the year.
Huddle classes have completed personal and achievement goals for 2017-2018!
Huddle classes have worked on the social and emotional learning components within Lions Quest specifically focusing on plans for success and finding accountability partners to challenge one another throughout the stressful school year.
Our counselors have visited with our Wildcats to talk about identifying and handling emotions as we know middle school is a trying time.
Did you know that we focus on organizational strategies in Huddle! All students have been given a Blue Planner that is used as an agenda, grade data-tracker, a parent communication tool, and also functions as a homework organizational strategy. Students have also been taught how to organize, set up, and should be using the AVID Binder.
Some of our greatest moments in Huddle have come from our various uses of Restorative Circles. So far in Huddle we have focused on Community Building Circles where our Wildcats have learned about their peers and teachers. We have shared successes, failures, fears, hopes, and dreams about our goals. Our staff has noticed that our students are able to connect at a deeper level, through the use of Huddle Classes, which is having a positive impact in our academic classes as well.
