🎨 Art Department Work of the Week 🎨
Congratulations to Alex Suttle 8R for winning Art Work of the Week with his amazing clay gargoyle - we loved the expression and fine finishing!
Adam Arnold
Adam Arnold in Year 7 competed at the BMX National Series last weekend in Manchester. Congratulations to Adam for finishing 6th and 7th in both finals.
Mock Elections
Over the last 4 weeks during form time, the students have been learning about the election process. Next week, they will have the chance to vote for the political party they feel will best represent their own ideals. This exercise will show if our school community votes similarly to the nation and gives the students a chance to experience the full voting process, including voting in a booth and having their name checked off the register beforehand. The mock election results will be announced at the end of next week.

Sparx Maths
We are thrilled to announce the introduction of a new and innovative maths computer programme, Sparx. This cutting-edge tool is designed to enhance our students' learning experience, making maths more engaging, interactive, and effective.
What is Sparx Maths?
- Sparx provides personalized homework to each child, with questions that are challenging yet achievable, and tailored to their learning needs.
- Students access their homework on their online Sparx account, where they’ll get immediate feedback for each question about whether their answer was correct or they need to have another try.
- Although submitted via the Sparx platform it is predominantly a written homework and students should record their work in their workbooks as Sparx has a ”bookwork check” system to help students form this habit.
- Support materials are also available in the platform if they get stuck.
For more information, click here: https://sparxmaths.com/impact/
We are currently trialling the software in classes across some Key Stage 3 classes and will be rolling this out to all other classes September.
If you have any questions, please contact Mr Read, Miss Atkinson or Mr Curd.

PE Extra Curricular Clubs - Summer Term
PE Fixtures - w/c Monday 1st July
Please Note:
- Fixtures are subject to change.
- Students must check the team sheets on the notice boards in PE to check team and confirm timings.
Unfortunately we are no longer able to have parents come into school to watch their children in sporting fixtures. We appreciate this is very disappointing for both students and parents, however, we must adhere to the stringent safeguarding guidance given to us. We apologise for any inconvenience.

With the weather warming up, please ensure your child has a refillable water bottle. There are water fountains around the school in which students can refill their bottles during break, lunch and in between lessons. Students should not be leaving lessons to fill up their water bottles.

Tracey Byrne, our student mentor, is holding drop ins for any student who would like a chat about anything that may be worrying them.

Price & Buckland - Uniform Suppliers
PE Kit Notice
Please can we just remind all parents and students of the school PE kit uniform expectations. As of late we have noticed an increase in BLACK leggings/shorts/tracksuit bottoms being worn for PE, and these are not part of the school PE kit. These items of uniform are only allowed in plain NAVY, all which can be found at the official school uniform supplier site https://price-buckland.co.uk/ or from other sporting retailers.
From September please can you ensure your child has the correct PE kit in the correct colours. Failure to do so will see the school's uniform expectations policy being followed and consequences put in place.
Thank you for your support in this matter.
Pre-Loved Uniform Shop
We are looking for any good quality second hand uniform for our pre-loved uniform shop. If you have any items you are willing to donate, please send them into the main school office.

If you have any good quality school PE kit that you no longer need, please donate it to the PE department. All kit welcome. Please bring to the PE office.
