A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
🎃 Happy Halloween! I hope you delight in seeing the costumes and smiles on student’s faces. We had a wonderful dress up day here at school. Students were excited to show off their dress up clothes to each other. The PTA treated us to smoothies in the morning, and Ms.Anna made special donut treats. We ended the day with a whole school fitness activity led by a special visitor, workout Barbie, and had a parade to see everyone’s outfits. Thank you to parents for helping students join in the fun!
🍂 🍎 Fall Festival - We had a great time celebrating our PES learners last Friday at our first PES Fall Festival. Students began with a whole school walk, rotated through six ten-minute activities, and had a special treat and drink. Thank you to PES staff and parents for making this event happen for students. Check out our facebook page for photos from the afternoon’s events.
🦃 PES Gives Thanks Lunch - Don’t forget to send in your sign up forms and money for our annual community thanksgiving-style lunch. If your child does not have a special guest for lunch, please let us know, we have staff available to accompany them.
🧭 Parent Teacher Conferences - Parent teacher conferences will be happening in just a few short weeks. Be on the lookout for sign ups from classroom teachers. This is a great time to see the school, the hard work your students do, and learn about all the hard work your students do.
Don’t forget to visit the PES facebook page for updates on recent field trips and learning in the classroom. https://www.facebook.com/PhippsburgElementary/

INTERNET SAFETY NIGHT
Date: Monday, November 4th
Time: 6:00-7:00pm
Location: Montgomery Auditorium, Morse High School/Bath Tech
RSU1 and the Sagadahoc Sheriff's Office have partnered together to invite parents, guardians, and caregivers to an Internet Safety Night. Come learn how to talk to students about what they see on the internet, as well as ways they can avoid being victimized on the internet. The Sagadahoc County Sheriff's Office, a local affiliate of Maine State Police Computer Crimes, has been working with RSU1 to share internet safety presentations to its students. These presentations cover privacy and security on the internet, good citizenship, and social media use. This new presentation is designed for adults trying to guide and safeguard their students online.
