Expectations

The school has a set of expectations for student behavior that will be taught to all students and recognized. These expectations apply to all areas of the school, including the classroom, hallways, lunchroom, and bus.

· Goal

The goal of PBIS is to create a positive school environment where students feel safe and can learn and grow.

· Teaching

Students are taught the school-wide expectations through examples and non-examples of appropriate behavior.

· Rewards

Students are rewarded with Raider Bucks for demonstrating expected behaviors by any staff member.

480 Students enjoyed the PBIS Volleyball Tournament! Students used their Raider bucks to play in the game, be a spectator, and to get snacks. Grades played against one another, along with a staff team, but ultimately the Seniors came out on top!

Through our partnership with Varsity Tutors for Schools, South Sumter High School students can now use 24/7 On-Demand Chat Tutoring. When help is needed, connect with a highly qualified expert tutor, day or night.

Grad Bash tickets ($98) for Seniors go on sale in January! For any questions, please email Mrs. Cofield.

A link to the Sumter Schools Enhancement Foundation Scholarships have been emailed to ALL seniors. They are due on or before January 17th!

Rock-A-Thon is Friday, January 17th, 7:00-11:00 pm. Sign up with Mrs. Hooten by Wednesday, Jan 15th. Seniors must have school insurance and provide their own rocking chair & have at least 1 pledge to participate. This event takes place during the boy's basketball game vs The Villages. Funds raided will be kept by each senior to use for senior expenses.

Grad Bash at Universal Studios & Islands of Adventure is Friday, April 25th (7 pm- 2 am). Tickets go on sale for $98 in January and will be collected by Mrs. Cofield.

AVID week ended with a spectacular race between the classes with a colorful/fun ending!

The annual Laura Vickers Christmas toy drive and wrapping party was a success! Multiple school based clubs came together to collect and wrap toys for the community event!
