HV Update 4-4-25
A message from your principal, Mrs. Stager
The fifth graders got a little taste of all PV has to offer this week with a visit from the band, choir, guidance counselors, and principal. Fifth grade parents, please be on the lookout for communications from Mr. Seborowski, PVMS Principal, regarding course selection and other pertinent information as the students begin to transition to middle school.
Next Wednesday, be sure to stop by PVMS for the annual Trep$ Marketplace. The event will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. and shoppers will have the opportunity to purchase some amazing products fifth grade student entrepreneurs have developed. We are also looking forward to the fourth grade Bookwormy on Thursday evening.
Enjoy your weekend!
Best,
Allison

NJSLA Testing
Please see the attached letter below regarding the NJSLA tests that will be administered in grades 3-5 this spring.
From the Health Office
Spring has Sprung!... and so have Spring Allergies!
We're looking forward to the budding trees and blooming flowers, but some of us suffer from seasonal allergies! Symptoms include: itchy eyes, scratchy throat, cough, runny nose or congestion, and watery eyes. It could be hard to determine when to keep your child home. Follow these guidelines:
- Keep your child home if he/she does not feel well enough to participate in normal activities, even if fever-free.
- Keep your child home until fever-free for 24 hours without the need to take fever-reducing medication (fever is defined 100.4 and above).
- If nausea/vomiting- keep your child home until at least 24 hours after the last episode of vomiting.
- If your child has strep throat- keep your child home until at least 12 hours have passed since the start of antibiotic treatment and fever-free for 24 hours without the need to take fever-reducing medication and feeling well enough to participate in normal activities.
- If your child is Covid-19 positive, keep home and call your school nurse for the latest guidelines.
- When reporting an absence, please report symptoms and any official diagnoses.
- Obtain a doctor's note if your child is sick for 3 or more days.
- Remind your child about practicing good hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette

Soiree Update
What a night!
We have such an incredible community who turned out to support and raise funds for the students and staff of Hillview. We are eternally grateful for everyone who contributed in making Jocks & Juleps a huge success – from all of our amazing sponsors, to all the businesses, organizations and individuals who donated prizes for the event, to all the parents of Hillview students who contributed to the widely popular grade level prizes, to the people who bought tickets and attended, to the Pequannock High School Volunteers who helped make the night run smoothly, and to the entire soiree committee who put it all together and made it happen – THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANKYOU!
We would also like to thank Mrs. Stager and the amazing Hillview front office, Mrs. Kane, Mrs. Pepe & Mrs. Esposito who always provide invaluable support to our HSA efforts.
Additionally, our soiree co-chairs, Michelle McKay & Dina English, would like to expressly thank Rachel Caliente, Alexis Hayton, Kelly Battista, Ashley Gaccione, Jessica Zittel, Krissy Garguilo, Lauren Diakakis, Stephanie Straface, Gilleanne Lenart, Christina Pitney, Nicole Dowling, Kristen Zalewski, Tara Barnard, Melissa Hurley, Maria Piroino & Maryellen Brucato, who were vital in soliciting prizes for the event and Lacey Vitetta and Kristen Amado who put together the beautiful centerpieces.
