From the Magnet School Director
We started the week with a wonderful induction ceremony to welcome our second incoming class at Hobby Health Science . It was a wonderful evening of celebrating our future and we truly appreciate the student leaders that volunteered to work with next
year’s students.
The students just completed a tough Science Benchmark and Ms. Canales was very proud of all of their hard work. In ELA they are working on the fairy tale unit and really enjoying the stories and their book clubs. In Career Investigations they have begun their final project and I can’t wait to see what they come up with for a final product.
We have one more week for our Cereal Drive so keep the boxes coming. At this time 8th period is still in the lead.
Upcoming events:
Tuesday May 14th 6:30-7:30 @ Blattman- Looking for 1 more volunteer to work with Mrs. Heye
Tuesday May 14th 5:00-6:45 @ Brauchle- Looking for 2 volunteers to work with Mrs. Johnson
Thursday May 16th 5:00-6:30 @ Westwood Terrace- Looking for 2 volunteers to work with Ms. Mitchell

Library
50 of our awesome scholars had an opportunity to listen to Neal Shusterman speak about his experience as an author, and we had a fantastic field trip!
All library books are now due! If your student has any lost or overdue books they will not be allowed to participate in field day at the end of the year, so please help them look for their books and remind your student to turn them in asap. Mrs. Fox will start sending out overdue notices soon.
Notes from the Nurse
- Immunization letters are going out to students to take home to parents. Calls will be made from Administration as a reminder to parents. FYI Parents: Our records will transfer to the School your child will be attending next year. If it is not updated while in attendance this year, you will have to take an updated record to the High School your child will be attending before they release a class schedule for the coming school year.
- UHS Immunization Bus will be at Hobby 5/30/2024 from 9am-12pm. Please complete the packet and return it to the school clinic as soon as possible to assure an appointment time.
