Bloomingdale Blast
June 10, 2024
Dear Bloomingdale Families,
This week brings our last full week of the 2023-2024 school year!
We are so excited for all the celebrations that will happen throughout the remaining days of school. Tomorrow, we will start the week with our Second Grade Walkover to OAS! We will also have celebrations for Kindergarten and first grade students throughout the week. It is sure to be a fun week! Thank you to the PTA, Chairs for each event, Class Parents and all our volunteers for making these events a success. We couldn't do it without each of you!
Thank you for reading this week's newsletter. Have a great week ahead,
Kristen D'Anna

Second Grade Walkover to OAS
The 2nd Grade Walkover to OAS will be on Monday, June 10th at approximately 8:45 am! Please have your 2nd grader wear their BAS shirt to school tomorrow. All parents/guardians are welcome to come cheer on their second grader as we walk to OAS. We hope to see you there!
Dress Code Reminders
As the weather becomes warmer, please keep review the following dress code reminders:
Clothing should be modest and not overly revealing. Shorts and shirts must be the appropriate length.
Safe footwear must be worn. Footwear that poses a hazard may not be worn in school. For example, students should wear appropriate footwear, such as closed-toe shoes or sneakers. Avoid wearing flip-flops or shoes/sandals without backs. Additionally, sneakers must be worn on gym days.
The entire policy on district dress code can be found here: District Policy 5511
Attendance Information
We love having your children at school! Regular and timely attendance is of the utmost importance.
- Attendance is important for students' academic and social development. As long as students are healthy, they should attend school.
- Arriving at school on time (between 8:20-8:30) is important in ensuring that students are ready for a day of learning. Classes begin promptly after morning announcements. Late arrivals are disruptive for all students.
Reporting Tardies/Absences
When reporting a student tardy/absent please notify the school by emailing basattendance@cranfordschools.org. If you are unable to send an email, please call 908-709-6973.

Please note, your child will also need additional items such as a backpack, microphone-free wired headphones, etc. so please make sure to provide these separately. Also, make sure to purchase the box for NEXT school year (i.e., if your child is in Kindergarten now you would purchase a First Grade box). The School Toolbox school supply sale is one of our PTA fundraisers and runs through June 23rd. Cranford Fund For Educational Excellence
What is the CFEE (Cranford Fund for Educational Excellence)?
Started nearly 30 years ago by members of the community interested in supporting innovative educational initiatives in the Cranford Schools, the Cranford Fund for Educational Excellence has awarded more than $325,000 in supplemental funding for educational grants that empower our teachers and impact our students. These grants support ideas that are aligned with the goals and focus areas of the district schools, but are outside the scope of the regular school budget. Please click here for details.
