Morris Elementary School
Week of June 10th
Hello Parents and Guardians,
Thank you to all the volunteers who helped make Field Day a success. Your time, energy, and enthusiasm were invaluable in creating a memorable and enjoyable day for all our students. We couldn’t have done it without your support, and we deeply appreciate your commitment to our school community.
A special thank you to the Lenox Fire Department for grilling our hot dogs and hamburgers on Friday. Your support and effort made Field Day even more special for our students, staff, and families. We are grateful for your continued involvement and for being such an integral part of our community.

Introducing Mrs. Nicole Derby - Fourth Grade Teacher
Nicole Derby joins us from the Williamsburg School District. She holds a Master's degree in Language and Literacy from Simmons College and brings over 10 years of experience teaching third and fourth graders.
Here is a message from Nicole to introduce herself:
My name is Nicole Derby, and I am so excited and honored to join the Morris community! I was born and raised and still reside in the Berkshires. I have been teaching third and fourth grade for over a decade and have a strong background in reading. My family and I enjoy camping, fishing in Rhode Island and Cape Cod, and hiking whenever we get the chance! My husband and I have two young boys, ages 6 and 9, two dogs, and two cats! I am looking forward to beginning this new journey at Morris Elementary School!
Welcome Mrs. Sarah Leidhold - First Grade Teacher
I am thrilled to announce that Mrs. Sarah Leidhold will be joining Morris Elementary School as our new first-grade teacher. She holds a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Albany and brings over 10 years of experience in early childhood education. Additionally, Sarah was an active member of the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Committee in the Adams Cheshire School District.
Here is a message from Sarah:
My name is Sarah Leidhold and I’m so excited to be joining the Morris Elementary team this coming fall! I have a true passion for early childhood education and I’ve been in this field for almost a decade. Previously, I taught kindergarten and Pre-K, in which I learned about play-based pedagogy, the science of reading, and social-emotional learning. I love creating relationships with students and motivating them through positive reinforcement. Outside of work, I like to hike, read, dance, and garden. I’m looking forward to meeting you and getting to know everyone in this school community!

Lenox Memorial Middle School Proudly Presents Honk! Jr.
Join Ugly, Cat & a whole flock of farm animals for this musical adaptation of The Ugly Duckling at the Duffin Theater, LMMHS, on Friday, June 14 at 6 pm & Saturday, June 15 at 1 pm.
Honk! Jr. is a heartwarming celebration of being brave, bold & different that is sure to delight audiences of all ages with its witty dialogue, delightful dancing & memorable score.
Ugly looks different from his duckling brothers and sisters. The other animals on the farm are quick to notice and ridicule. Being bullied and feeling rather foul about himself, the little waterfowl finds himself on an adventure of self-discovery. Along the way, Ugly meets a whole flock of characters and finds out that embracing your differences and being uniquely yourself is an extraordinary thing to be! The story teaches us compassion, the power our words have on others and the lesson to never judge a book by its cover. For anyone who has ever felt different, this play is for you.
Suggested donation is $10 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens.
Tickets will be sold in person, 1/2 hour prior to each performance at the door. A bake sale and a gift basket raffle will be held after the show.
