NORTERRA CANYON NEWS
SEPTEMBER 2024
Greetings Pirate Families,
August flew by! As we enter September I want to kick off the 24-25 school year by reviewing Norterra Canyon's mission statement:
The Pirate Way! Every Student Every Day
Achievement
Rigor
Reflection
Growth
High levels of learning for all
At Norterra Canyon, we are committed to providing the highest quality education for your children, and our newly crafted mission statement encapsulates the core values and aspirations that drive us forward. Let's dive into what our mission statement represents.
The Pirate Way, Every Student Every Day! is what we say when we are referring to the campus wide behavior expectations of Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be safe & Be Kind.
Achievement: We set our sights on excellence and celebrate the accomplishments of every student. By nurturing a culture of effort, perseverance, and goal-setting, we empower our students to reach for their personal best in academics, extracurricular activities, and personal growth.
Rigor: We believe in challenging our students to think critically and engage deeply with their studies. Our rigorous academic programs are designed to foster curiosity, analytical thinking, and a lifelong love of learning. We know that it is through facing challenges that true growth occurs.
Reflection: Self-awareness and introspection are vital components of personal development. We encourage our students to reflect on their learning journey, recognize their strengths, and identify areas for improvement. By fostering a habit of reflection, we help our students become more well-rounded individuals.
Growth: Learning is a continuous process that extends beyond the classroom. We are dedicated to nurturing the intellectual, emotional, and social growth of every student. Through engaging experiences and supportive environments, we enable our students to flourish as they explore new interests and develop their passions.
High Levels of Learning for All: We hold a firm belief in the potential of each student to succeed. Our educators work tirelessly to differentiate instruction and create inclusive learning environments that cater to various learning styles and needs. We are committed to ensuring that every student reaches their full potential.
As partners in your child's educational journey, we invite you to join us in embracing our mission statement. We look forward to collaborating with you to make this academic year a remarkable one.
Sincerely,
Theresa Milks
