Millennium Families,
I hope everyone has had a great weekend. On this federal holiday, we remember the late Martin Luther King, Jr. who is known for his contributions to the American civil rights movement in the 1960s. His most famous work is his “I Have a Dream” speech, delivered in 1963, in which he spoke of his dream of a United States that is void of segregation and racism.
Physical ID update - We are continuing to work with our vendor to get physical IDs printed for all our students. We have a handful of students who still do not have a picture in our student information system, so we are tackling that task at the moment. I will continue to update you and our students as we progress.
I know this seems to be a drawn out topic regarding student drop off in the morning, but it is a daily task and we are focused on keeping our community safety during this process. Please continue to follow proper procedures and traffic laws when dropping of your student.
The two biggest items we see that back up traffic and put our students at risk include:
1. Please refrain from dropping off your student in the middle of the street along Wigwam Blvd. Please refrain from dropping off students along the curb on Wigwam as well. (This stops traffic.) This is a huge safety concern for our students. Please utilize the drop off loops either in the west student parking lot, the front loop along Wigwam Blvd or down Park Avenue to the baseball parking lot.
2. Westbound traffic on Wigwam Blvd - Please refrain from turning right into the front drop of loop from the outside lane. It is not a turning lane. This is preventing the east bound traffic from turning left into the drop off area. I believe this is what is leading to students being dropped off in the middle of Wigwam Blvd.

Civics Test - did your child take this test in 8th grade?
Both our feeder districts, Avondale (AESD) and Litchfield (LESD) Elementary School Districts, have administered the state required Civics test to students in 8th grade. AESD gave the test to our current 9th grade students (Class of 2028) and current 10th grade students (Class of 2027). LESD gave the test only to our current 9th grade students (Class of 2028).
We have records from both the Avondale and Litchfield Districts of which students received a passing score. We are working to make sure the right individuals at each high school receive this information. Please do not contact the feeder districts to request scores. In addition to the opportunities for our students to meet the Civics test graduation requirement while they were either in AESD or LESD, we also offer students the opportunity to pass the Civics test during high school.
Congratulations to our Pom Team for being the AIA State Championship Runners Up In Hip Hop and taking home the Most Entertaining banner.

Seniors ~ Order Your Cap and Gown with Jostens
It's never too early to start thinking about graduation. Jostens has opened up ordering for the Class of 2025 Graduation products to be ordered. Please note that the only item required to be ordered through Jostens is the cap and gown unit to ensure it's the right color purple. Please visit the link below in order to purchase your graduation items. Sibling caps and gowns from previous years may also be used. In this case, you would only need to order the tassel. If your previous senior was class of 2024 and they decorated their cap, you would need to call Jostens at their store to place the order at 602-765-7337.
Caps and gowns are delivered to the school for our on-campus distribution event in March. We do encourage you to get your order in by the December deadline to ensure your cap and gown arrives in time for our spring distribution.
