π’ Important "Student Code of Conduct" Information π’
Expectations Assembly
All secondary students attended an assembly last week in which the section head went over general expectations such as dress code, grading policies, and behavior expectations, to name a few. Students had the opportunity to ask questions and gain further clarity.
- !!! NO Personal Sports Balls Allowed !!! π«πππβΎπ«
- To maintain a safe and distraction-free atmosphere, students are not allowed to bring personal sports balls onto the school premises. This includes but is not limited to soccer balls, basketballs, and footballs. Please be aware that any personal sports balls brought to school will be respectfully confiscated. We understand the importance of physical activity and play, and our school provides a variety of equipment for recreational use during designated times. Additional, students should store other athletic equipment, such as lacrosse sticks and baseball bats in the designated location (they should see their coaches if they have questions about specific locations). This procedure is in place to ensure the safety of all students and to minimize disruptions to the learning environment. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in adhering to this procedure. If you have any concerns or questions, please feel free to reach out to me.
- Arrival & Dismissal Procedures...
- We now have only one central drop off location for students (Grade K-12) which in the K-8 loop. (Please refer to the map that was sent out on the app for a visual of where you should drop your child off.)
- Middle School Students should NOT be dropped off until 7:45am. This allows elementary students the space to be dropped off before they start school at 7:45am. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
- The K-8 building entry gate locks at 8:25am. If you arrive after this time, you will need to drop your student off at the Student Union.
- Please note: Students should NOT be dropped off or picked up at the gym or in front of the student union in the mornings and after school during normal drop off and pick up times. (Only students who ride with a sibling Gateway student or are a part of Sibling pickup program will be allowed to exit through the side gym gate. This students will need to present the appropriate card to the teacher on duty).
- Parents, please remember to stay in your vehicles during pick up and drop off.
- Please encourage your student to actively look for his/her ride after school. Several students are on their phones and playing around during pick up time.
- Student should NOT walk past the playground area to get to their cars. They will need to wait until their ride is in front of the pick up side of the K-8 building before walking to their vehicle. Please do not instruct your child to walk past the designated pick up areas. This helps us keep them safe during pick up as we can better manage the traffic flow. Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated.
- Dress Code Reminders...
- Students should continue to wear clothing that is in compliance with our dress code policy. One major emphasis this year is that shorts and skirts must reach at least fingertip length.
- Parents, please check your child before he/she leaves for school to make sure his/her attire is school appropriate.
- We do "Dress Code Checks" during second and sixth period of each day.
- Detentions are issued for violation of dress code policy. Students will be required to change clothes once they are found to be out of dress code compliance.
- Pajamas, blankets and house shoes are NOT allowed (unless indicated during a particular event or spirit week).
*Additional consequences for repeat offenders.*
Refusal to change will result in being sent home with an unexcused absence and loss of exemption.
**If a student refuses to correct his/her dress code violation, he/she will immediately receive an office referral.
Our students did a wonderful job last week with adhering to the cell phone policy.
We have the best students!!
Thank you in advance for your assistance in this matter.
