SGS NOVEMBER MONTHLY NEWSLETTER
Work Hard, Be Nice, Have Gratitude
Dear Faculty, Staff, Parents, Guardians, and Community
This newsletter entails spotlights of staff, student work and upcoming events our students are working on for the month of November. Involve your students with the counseling activities regarding Gratitude, and find some ways to help with Math at home by using the links below. Enjoy our newly added video from our October assembly. Give a big shout out to Mrs. Hayes for creating our November newsletter! She is almost finished with her Master's of Educational Admin.
Lastly, I would like to remind everyone to be mindful of the changing weather as we move into winter. Please ensure your child is dressed appropriately for the cooler temperatures, and if needed, reach our for support through our school resources. We believe that outside air and children playing are the best way to help cultivate our thinkers. If you haven't noticed, we play outside as much as possible. If the weather turns off too cold or wet we will continue all our procedures as we do for inside recess. In the mornings if the weather is too wet or cold students will enter through the main entrance and go to the classrooms for inside recess.
Thank you again for your continued commitment to our school community, Together, we are creating an enriching environment that allows every student to thrive.
Wishing you a wonderful November filled with warmth, joy and gratitude,
Jamie Burtner
Sterling Grade School Principal

Mrs. Cheryl Estabrook
We want to thank Cheryl for her 12 years of service to SGS as she is retiring at the end of the month.
I started working for Sterling Grade School in Aug. of 2012. I have always loved working with the kids. Before I started working at Sterling, I worked for 20 some years at, Cornerstone Daycare in Lyons. I worked as a 4&5 year old daycare teacher. I enjoy watching the kids progress as they are learning new things, & of all the excitement they show when they've mastered something. Truly working at S.G.S, has been one of my most rewarding experiences. I have meet some great co- workers, & all the faculty are great people to work with.
