Thank you to our community groups for such a nice week!
We would all like to say thank you to everyone who showed our staff how much they are appreciated this week! PTO fed us BBQ on Tuesday, Community Betterment supplied a full chicken dinner on Wednesday, the Board of Education grilled for us on Thursday, and Booster Club supplied ice cream for dessert. PTO also recognized administrators with gift cards on school administrators' day.
We truly appreciate all the thoughtfulness and work that went into this week. Thank you for your support during what has been a great year in our building! We're looking forward to another one as we plan for next year.
PTO honored our Lunch Heroes today!
Science Research students had a great day last Saturday at the Symposium!
Principal's Corner
Dear Parents and Community Members,
Happy Friday! I can’t believe it, but we are officially down to ONE WEEK left in the school year! This has been such an amazing school year with so many things to celebrate: low teacher turnover, increased student academic achievement in reading and math, positive family-like school culture, and so much more! I have enjoyed getting to know all of the students and staff this year. We truly have some of the best kiddos and staff around, and I consider myself blessed to be part of this community.
The last week of school is a fun, but busy week! We have water day for students in grades K-4, kindergarten tassel ceremony, end of year awards ceremony, and graduation. The K-4 water day is Tuesday, May 7. If you have students in these grade levels you should have received information from teachers. Please note that students who have missing work or behavior issues could result in students not eligible to participate in water day. It should be a fun day for students, so please help me in encouraging your students to make sure all assignments are caught up and that their behavior remains school appropriate.
The end of year awards ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, May 9. Elementary awards will begin at noon, middle school awards will begin approximately 1:20pm, and high school awards will be approximately 2:30pm. Start times could change slightly depending how fast each awards session goes.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to reach out. My door is always open and I am always willing to help however I can.
Sincerely,
Kyla Kirtley
