TIGER TIMES

NOTES FROM YOUR PRINCIPALS
Dear Titus Family,
This week, our dedicated faculty held team-level meetings to review student data and strategically plan for the second half of the year. It was a privilege to witness the professionalism and hard work displayed by our teachers. I am incredibly proud to serve as the principal of such a wonderful school where excellence is displayed in all we do.
I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our families for "figuring out" our first Flexible Instruction Day. While we encountered a few minor hiccups, overall, the day went smoothly, and we are well-prepared should we need to implement another one in the future.
As we approach the weekend, I hope you all have a chance to pause, unwind, and enjoy some quality time with your loved ones. I know we all rally together in support of our Eagles — here’s to an exciting game and a weekend full of fun and excitement! Go Birds!
Warmly,
Your Proud Principal
Mrs. Helen Sclama Zaleski
Hi Titus Community –
It was another great week to be a Titus Tiger. The students continue to amaze me here. I was just in Mrs. Maise’s class for phonics instruction and those kids are working!!! She even put me to the test and the pressure was on. We had our first “FID” day yesterday and the feedback we received from the students was great. It sounds like they will be prepared if we have another one in the future.
The sea of green was huge today. Everyone is excited for the Big Game on Sunday. These two first graders are predicting an EAGLES VICTORY!
Have a great weekend and GO Birds!!!
Your Proud Assistant Principal,
Mr. Dave Filson

TITUS SCHOOL DAY
SCHOOL HOURS REMINDER
We are an "A" or early school, and our hours are 8:35 AM to 3:15 PM.
The morning kindergarten session hours are 8:35 AM to 11:10 AM.
The afternoon kindergarten session will run from 12:40 PM to 3:15PM.
START OF THE SCHOOL DAY ...
Please be aware that the school day begins at 8:35 AM in your child(ren)'s classroom(s). If you are a car rider in the morning, it is recommended that children are dropped off no later than 8:30 AM in order to get to their classrooms for the start of the school day at 8:35 AM. If a student arrives in their classroom beyond 8:35 AM, they are considered tardy. Parents will need to come into the building to sign their child in if they arrive after 8:35 AM.
The adults supervising the car-rider drop-off line will be on duty until 8:32 AM. Students dropped off after 8:32 AM will more than likely not be able to make it to their classrooms on time for the start of the school day at 8:35 AM. Also, for safety reasons, students arriving to school prior to 8:15 AM, need to be supervised by their parent/caregiver. We ask that all students wait with their family member in the drop off line until 8:15 AM.

BINGO Baskets - Help Needed!
PLEASE HELP US FILL THE RAFFLE BASKETS!
We hope that you will join us on Thursday, March 20th for the Titus Family Bingo and Book Fair Night. And, in between these two exciting events will be the Hallway of Raffle Baskets. Last year’s baskets were AMAZING, and we promise that this year’s offerings will be just as fabulous. Money earned through raffle ticket sales supports the activities and purchases of our Home and School Association. Each homeroom has a raffle basket to fill. Please look for an email from a parent volunteer and help if you can by purchasing an item or two for the basket. You can support this effort in a big or small way!
Thank you!

WINTER WEATHER INFORMATION

Winter Is Coming: A Reminder About Procedures in Case of School Schedule Change
With the official first day of winter on Dec. 21, CBSD families are reminded of district procedures should winter weather impact the school day schedule. You can find all related information on this webpage. If school buildings need to close or operate on a modified schedule due to present or pending weather conditions or any other emergency, the district will endeavor to communicate the schedule change to families as soon as possible. Please note that this year, CBSD will be utilizing Flexible Instructional Days (FIDs) should school need to close after the first use of a traditional snow day. You can learn more about the procedures for FIDs here.
Info on Flexible Instructional Days, Expectations for Families and Students
A Flexible Instructional Day (FID) is designed for situations where school buildings need to close due to weather or other emergencies, but learning can still continue at home. Utilizing a FID allows us to avoid extending the school year or disrupting the instructional calendar as well as provides an opportunity for students to practice their skills and become more independent learners. Elementary and secondary students and families have certain expectations should a FID be necessary. Complete information, including an explanatory video with a translatable script, can be accessed on our FID webpage.

Right now, teachers from schools across the district are submitting grants for programs that directly enhance the learning experiences of your children. VOLUNTEERS
DON'T FORGET CLEARANCES ...
Titus will expect all potential volunteers to complete their paperwork for clearances prior to assuming any volunteer/chaperone role within the school. This will ensure we are in line with district and state expectations.
Who Needs Clearances: An individual who is responsible for the child's welfare or has direct contact with children. Pennsylvania law requires all persons having direct contact with school children to obtain background checks and clearances. In the best interest of the safety and security of our students, Central Bucks School District required the submission of these clearances prior to volunteering during the school year. Approved volunteers are given an identification card to be presented at the school (along with your photo ID, such as a driver's license) when volunteering. Please allow 7-10 days after you have submitted your online application for receipt of the ID card.
Additional information and steps on how to complete your clearances can be found on our district website by clicking here.
