BY VOLUNTEERING YOU CAN MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE!!
When volunteers commit to serving at a school, students achieve higher grades, have access to more opportunities, and gain community connections to help them thrive.
Edmonds School District serves 20,000 children and youth - we are committed to carefully screening volunteer candidates to ensure student safety as required by law, District policies and the Washington Schools Risk Management Pool.
- All volunteers must pass a background check, it takes one to two weeks to get approved.
- Approved volunteers will stay active for one calendar year from application approval.

Natural Leaders
What are Natural Leaders?
Natural Leaders are multicultural families who want to learn more about the education system to support partnerships between families, community and schools. They are leaders in their community that work as a team with family advocates, family support centers, and school staff to:
1. Build relationships with families.
2. Listen to families ideas on how to help their children be successful in school.
3. Bring families and schools together to plan/implement the families' ideas.
Why are Natural Leader needed?
- Research shows that academic success is related to the quality of instruction/learning environment, but an equally large part of the success is due to family engagement in their children’s education.
- Natural Leaders represent the diversity of their school communities. Honoring their experiences and listening to their voice ensures more equity and access for all students.
How to be involved in Natural Leaders:
- You can volunteer to help out at events here at CPM.
- Work as a group to help and host events to build community for our families here at CPM.
- Attend our monthly Natural Leaders meeting every first Thursday of the month from 2-3pm in Room 41 to discuss the needs of families at CPM and think of ideas that would support families based on those discussions.
Kid Vantage Program
Edmonds School District works with an agency called Kid Vantage. Kid Vantage helps children have what they need to grow, play, learn and thrive. They do this by providing essential care, safety, and health goods for children, from birth through age 10, who are living in poverty or experiencing homelessness or family disruption.
The items requested is not guaranteed, it all depends if Kid Vantage has the items in stock at their warehouse.
Families can put in an order once a month.
Orders are normally ready to be picked up a week after you submitted your order. I will reach out to you to schedule time to pick up items ordered at CPM.
*** If you are currently working with another Family Resource Advocate in Edmonds School District, YOU SHOULD NOT BE PUTTING IN AN ORDER WITH ME.

- Sore throat, especially with swollen glands
- Diarrhea

If your student becomes ill at school with any of the above symptoms or any other symptoms that could indicate a communicable illness, you will be notified immediately by the school to pick up your student.
COVID-19, Influenza and RSV for 2024-2025 School Year
