PRINCIPAL'S WEEKLY MESSAGE
Happy Friday Ridgeview Families!
HERE ARE YOUR UPDATES FOR THE NEXT WEEK
This week we had two days of PBIS events for students: one for 7th and one for 8th. Though the 7th graders did win one round, it wasn’t close. The teachers won by a landslide against the students in both dodgeball competitions.
May 22nd (7th grade ) and May 23rd (8th grade) we will have our end of the year Academic Awards ceremony and 7th grade National Junior Honor Society Induction. Students receiving an award and/or induction will receive a special invite to the ceremony; 8th grade parents / guardians only received a Talking Points invite. More specific information is below my section of the newsletter. If after reading the info you still have questions, please contact the main office.
8th grade students only will be turning in their chromebooks on Wed May 22nd for the year. They will receive a new device at Central next year. If your student will not be at school on the 22nd, please bring their chromebook in or have them turn it in to Mrs. Kissell in the media center prior to that date. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Kissell.
All students who have library books still out, they are now past due! Please make sure your students are turning in their library books before they leave for the summer. Questions? Please contact Mrs. Kissell.
In order to be a WEB Leader (We All Belong), rising 8th grade students were recommended by teachers. The counseling department made the final decision on who would be a WEB Leader for the 24-25 school year and that list was made known this week. The responsibility includes but is not limited to the following: Helping with Welcome Days, escorting new students to classes, giving tours of the building, and leading lessons during Pawtime. Congrats to our new WEB Leaders. We’re looking forward to working with them next year!
Lastly, as the weather continues to get better and the days get longer, behaviors also increase. We have 1 full week left in the school year and we’d love to have everyone here with us until the end on May 29th. However, as much as we love your kiddos, we will have peace during the last 1 full week with or without them. Please press upon your student about continuing to adhere to our TIGER expectations every single day or summer break could come early for them. If you ever have any questions about our TIGER expectations and/or the district behavior matrix, please contact an administrator.
We hope everyone enjoys the weekend. Take care and we’ll chat again next week! GO TIGERS!

Dosages cannot exceed the manufacturer’s recommendations for age and weight. (i.e., We cannot administer medication to children under 12 if the label says: “Do not administer to children under 12, except under the direction of a physician.” We need to have a note from the doctor in order to give a dose of medication that is different than the dose stated on the bottle.) 💜Ridgeview Family & Friends💜
Happy Friday! We hope you had a fantastic week and are looking forward to the weekend.
We apologize that we missed our weekly highlights in last week's newsletter and have a lot to share this week. Qiana and I can't express enough how amazing our Teacher Appreciation & 8th Grade Graduation cookout was. The weather was absolutely perfect, we had two amazing grill masters (Lionell A and Franklin G), our volunteers were fantastic and tons of happy faces from our Teachers & Students, everyone was grateful for everything.
We would like to shout out and say "THANK YOU" to the following individuals: Shannon H, Denise J, Heather G, Lionell A, Franklin G, Pat P, Maddie G, Brittany T, Amanda, we may be missing one more name (she didn't sign up but she showed up) and finally my partner Qiana Ellis for battling the sun, pushing tables and chairs, handling the food and just making everything wonderful. We would also like to give a SPECIAL shout out to each family that donated money, food, cookies, drinks, anything listed on the sign-up genius, we truly appreciate each of you and can't "Thank You" all enough (long list).
Another reminder, Kris Owen, Erica Reynolds and Megan Wade are hosting Cultural Day on May 28th, if there are any volunteers available to help with this event please feel free to contact Kelly, by email at kelly.martin_rvjhpto@hotmail.com and I will share this with Kris, we are also looking for Cultural Day food items from all cultures and backgrounds. If this is something you are interested in, please also let Kelly know as she is working with the School Counselors to get samples (mini) to try during the event. If this is something you are looking to do we ask that ingredients be provided to ensure allergies, etc.
💜As always, we thank you all for your support! 💜
Have a great weekend!
Kelly & Qiana

HELP Make Our Schools Safer
The Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Department of Public Safety have launched the SaferOH tip line that will accept both calls and texts 24 hours a day.
This tip line allows students and adults to anonymously share information with school officials and law enforcement about threats to student safety—whether that involves a threatened mass incident or harm to a single student.
Every tip can remain anonymous. School safety analysts may ask for additional information, but the caller can remain secret or leave his or her contact information for later follow-up.
Calls or texts to 844-SaferOH (844-723-3764) are answered by analysts in the Ohio Homeland Security’s Threat Assessment and Prevention (TAP) Unit. When action is needed, the TAP Unit immediately forwards information to Pickerington Schools, local law enforcement agencies, and others, if necessary.
