The Fowler Weekly
December 2-6, 2024
MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Good Day All,
We are looking forward to welcoming back our students and staff from an extended break.
There are three full weeks of school between now and Winter Break. If you know of a planned absence, please reach out to our office by phone or email so we can excuse the absence. We do have some fun activities planned but we want to ensure that we are focused on academic progress and success during this time. Please help us by keeping stable routines at home which can include appropriate amounts of sleep, good nutrition and coming to school ready to learn with a charged iPad.
Thank you for your continued support!

COMMUNICATION
Please take a minute to read this: starting with our first communication in January, The Fowler Weekly, will be delivered via ParentSquare.
It will look a little different than our typical email that is titled “The Fowler Weekly….” It will look like this:
ParentSquare has the ability to translate our communication into over 100 languages. It will automatically send the communication in the language that you have registered with us as the language you prefer for communication. An additional advantage for you is that YOU can determine when you would like to receive communication; at the time we send it, or in a “digest” at a specified time each day. In addition, as a district and as a school, we will be using Parent Square exclusively in order to relieve the constant inundation in your email accounts. Finally, this is all so much easier if you have the ParentSquare App.
Get started here.
Step by Step Instructions for setting up your account. (There are QR codes on these instructions that can be used to access the app)

HAPPENINGS
Homework Help will resume for the next two weeks. Monday through Thursday the weeks of December 2 and December 9. Students MUST BE enrolled prior to attending. They can enroll with the ASA Fall Form.
In addition, Affinity Groups may meet. Please have your student check with their Affinity Group leader in order to determine whether or not their specific group will meet.
Get ready—the Scholastic Book Fair is coming to our school December 9-13! This is a great opportunity to connect with your child over the thrill of bringing home new books to dive into again and again.
There’s more info on our school’s Book Fair homepage:
https://www.scholastic.com/bf/fowlermiddleschool5
While you’re there, set up a Book Fair eWallet - the digital payment account that allows your child to shop for books at the Fair without cash. Then share your eWallet link so friends and extended family can add funds. The eWallet is refillable, but any amount leftover can be used on Scholastic’s website. Otherwise, cash, card, and apple pay are accepted at the registers. Every purchase benefits our school!
Gift Card Drive for Families in Need
This season, brighten a family's life by donating gift cards! Your generosity can provide essentials like groceries, clothing, or a warm meal to those facing tough times. Accepted Gift Cards:
Target
Walmart
Winco
Fred Meyer
Amazon
Donate as much as you can or as much as you want. Every gift card helps brighten someone's day. Drop off your gift cards at the office before December 10, 2024.
Wow! Our Lost and Found mountain is, dare we say, out of control! Is your student missing a coat? Lunchbox? Shoe? Umbrella? Sock? Backpack? Water bottle? Wrist brace? Spiral? Binder? Please have them check the Lost & Found area as the pile of belongings will be leaving the building on the afternoon of December 18. If you, as a parent/guardian would like to come in and look around, you are welcome to do so before students arrive (7:30-8:15am) and during the day (9:00-10:30) or (1:00-3:00) or after school (3:15-4:00). We will have you sign in as a visitor and take you over to look at the small mountain. Questions? Call the Main Office at (503)431-5000.
