School Lunches Update
High School lunches are $3.00 each day. A la carte items from other food lines are available at an additional cost.
Students with a negative food account balance of $5.00 or more cannot add the additional a la carte items from the alternative food lines to their meals. The daily lunch menu meal will still be available for these students.
If your student has a negative account balance, which can be viewed in Skyward, you may deposit funds to their account using the online Revtrak system (Deposit Meal Account Funds Online) or by sending a check with your student to school. Please make checks payable to “Central York School District.” Checks may be given to the cashiers in the cafeteria for deposit into the student’s food services account. If you cannot log in to Skyward, please email familyaccess@cysd.k12.pa.us to update your contact information or reset your account password.
Please complete the Free and Reduced Meal Program application if you need assistance, Free and Reduced Meal Program. If you need additional information or assistance, don't hesitate to contact your student's school counselor or assistant principal.
From The School Counseling Office
Please contact the School Counseling Office with any questions regarding this information.
All 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students must submit their course requests for 2025-26 on Skyward by February 7. Students and parents are encouraged to consult with teachers and school counselors as they make scheduling decisions. Important course selection information can be found at tinyurl.com/CentralCSG.
ROTARY ESSAY & SPEECH CONTESTS
The Rotary Club of York-North is inviting students to enter their essay and speech contests about the importance of community service to their lives. The deadline has been extended to February 14. Requirements can be found at tinyurl.com/CYHSRotaryContest.
FINANCIAL AID FOR COLLEGE
Seniors who are heading to college or technical/career schools should be completing the FAFSA online and applying to scholarships. There are many changes with the FAFSA that are causing a lot of stress. Please consider reading these Pro Tips before you start! The most important tips we saw were:
Collect all of the necessary info about the student and parent AND the financial documents before you start.
Be sure that the student completes all of their sections FIRST. The parent should fill in their sections SECOND. It is quicker this way!
More information about financial aid and scholarships can be found at tinyurl.com/CentralYorkfinancialaid. Additionally, Commonwealth University is offering Virtual Financial Aid 101 Information Sessions to help students and their families understand the financial aid process on February 18, March 20, and April 23 at 7pm. Families should register online in advance.
IMPORTANT TASKS FOR JUNIORS
11th grade students MUST set up their Parchment account. Use the email you’ve recently received with the subject Central York High School and your Parchment account. This is NOT spam. Anytime a student needs to access their high school transcript, they will use Parchment, so this is important! We strongly recommend that you use the link in the email to set up your account. (Do NOT just go to the website; it will not work the correct way.) We also encourage you to USE A PERSONAL EMAIL ADDRESS when creating your account, since you may need to access your transcript long after high school graduation. It’s ALSO time to register for the SAT or ACT, if you’re planning to apply to colleges. Go to sat.org and act.org for information, free preparation tools, and registration. If you get free or reduced price lunch, ask your counselor about getting a fee waiver.
2025 Advanced Placement (AP) Testing Information
AP Exam registration forms for second semester AP classes were distributed to students in early February. The cost for each exam is $99. Students must pay a non-refundable deposit of $40 per each exam ordered. The registration form and deposit monies are due in the School Counseling Office by 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 6. Please contact Mrs. Foery with any questions regarding the exam registration process.
NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) Eligibility
Student-athletes planning to play sports in college should learn about the NCAA initial eligibility requirements at tinyurl.com/CYHSNCAA and see their school counselor with any questions.
Available daily during FLEX, peer tutoring can be requested at tinyurl.com/cyhstutoring. Students wanting to be peer tutors can sign up at tinyurl.com/be-a-peer-tutor.
