In observance of Memorial Day, Brighton Schools will be closed. School will resume on Tuesday.
Tuesday, May 28th – Regular school schedule and ALL students are expected to be in attendance.
- We do NOT authorize a SENIOR “SKIP” Day. Students with unexcused absences will receive consequences.
All students are to attend school. 😊

SAVE THE DATES for FINAL EXAMS
June 4 – June 25
Students with scheduled exams are expected to be there for ALL EXAMS!
- Food Services During Exam Weeks
- The Brighton Café is closed during exam week.
- On the 14th, 17th and 18th, 20th and 21st and 24th the snack bar is open from 7:00-11:45 a.m.
- The snack bar will be closed on the 25th.
- Students may pick up breakfast from 7 AM to 7:45 AM each day.
- Students may pick up assorted cold lunches in the snack line from 9:30 – 11:45 each day.

Hannah Marangola Named Outstanding Senior
Brighton High School student Hannah Marangola was selected as the school’s Outstanding Senior. She was recognized at the Monroe County Council of School Superintendents’ (MCCOSS) Michael C. O’Laughlin Outstanding Senior Recognition Dinner at East High School on May 8.
The Outstanding Senior Recognition Dinner is the only program which recognizes excellence in all our county and city high schools at one event. Students are selected for this honor based on their scholarship, leadership, service, and character. The honorees were presented a gift by Monroe One BOCES District Superintendent Dan White and their respective school superintendent.
Hannah is a member of BHS Executive Class Council, serving as representative to the Culture Climate Leadership Team. She was selected to participate in the Shared Spaces Art Exhibit at Nazareth University alongside teacher Katie Maley. Hannah helped paint a mural in the BHS art room and murals on some of traffic boxes around the town of Brighton. She competes on McQuaid’s Robotics Team and is the Robotics Manufacturing Team Lead and Safety Captain. Hannah was accepted early decision to Northeastern University’s architecture program

On May 11th & 12th Brighton Rowing Club competed at the NYS Scholastic Championships in Saratoga. Four of our boats medaled in their races

In addition, The Girls Varsity 4 and the Boys Freshman U16 8 qualified for the Scholastic Rowing Association National Championships in New Jersey that takes place May 24th and 25th.

DECA students represent BHS at the International competition in California on April 29
Noah Kivel and Ben Nutter attended after placing second in the DECA New York State competition in the entrepreneurship category, and Noah Gray and Shidao (David) Jiang attended after placing third in the DECA New York State competition in the financial services category. The BHS students were honored to be there representing Brighton.

Would you like to host a French student and/or travel to France next year?
48 students from Lycée Sévigné in Rennes, France will be in Brighton from Oct. 13-22, 2024. We have already placed 29 students, but still need 19 more amazing BHS host families! To learn more about the hosting requirements and access the Host Family Application, please click here. Students who host have priority to travel to France in February 2025. Hosting Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, however, travel applications are due May 31st.

Host Families Needed for World Language Interns
Are you interested in learning about a different culture and way of life? For more than 30 years, Brighton has been the only district in our area to host language interns from other countries! The World Language Department at Brighton is currently looking for three host families for our interns for the 2024-25 academic school year, and we hope you will consider!

Host Families needed for Israeli Exchange
Brighton High School is once again excited to participate in the BHS-Israeli Exchange. Even though the program is jointly sponsored by the Brighton Central School District and the Jewish Federation of Rochester, this is intended to be a strictly cultural and non-religious exchange. As such, any BHS student can participate.

Brighton Community Education

SAT and ACT Exam Prep Boot Camp
Taught by Chariot Learning--Upstate New York’s most well-known and respected test prep organization--this SAT/ACT Boot Camp thoroughly reviews the essential reading, writing, math, and test-taking skills and strategies for the most current versions of both exams. This class meets at Brighton High School multiple times throughout the year.Complete class information, meeting dates for each session, and registration are available at brightonschools.revtrak.net. New York State Driver Education
This course is offered at Brighton High School (BHS four times a year – fall, winter, spring, and summer. Brighton Central School District partners with a program coordinator and instructors who are Monroe One Educational Services (BOCES) employees. Dates for the next session are posted as soon as they are provided to BHS from BOCES. BHS students are enrolled on a first-come, first-served basis. Prepare to register for this course by reading general information about the current session here (see the Student Info Sheet).
