Hello CBA Families,
What a rainy week at CBA Elementary! Fortunately, our school was hardly fazed as we kicked off the week with Rock Your School! This initiative, started five years ago by Get Your Teach On, encourages teachers to create unique educational experiences for their students. Our CBA Elementary teachers took on the challenge and truly rocked it, transforming classrooms into Book Tastings, Starbucks Cafés, "Glow" rooms, and even a fully functioning farm!
To top it off, Quiver Farms visited our campus on Tuesday. Students had hands-on experiences with the apple press, making fresh apple cider, and they even made some new furry friends!
Additionally, Bringing Hope Home, an organization dedicated to creating unexpected joy for families dealing with cancer, visited our 3rd graders this week. They helped kick off our annual Parade of Pumpkins community fundraising event. Students will start selling pumpkins for this event on Monday, 10/7. Be sure to stop by their table to pick out the perfect pumpkin!
Our 4th and 5th graders also enjoyed a visit from the Chester County Food Bank, who helped prepare the garden beds for winter and planted garlic, which will hibernate and be ready for harvesting in July!
While we are saddened to cancel our Back-to-School Movie Night, we eagerly anticipate our annual Parade of Pumpkins. We look forward to seeing all of our families at this spook-tacular fall event.
Congratulations to our CBA Lion of the Week, Trey N., 5th Grade. Trey's teacher, Ms. Benson, nominated him for demonstrating what it means to Be a Lion! Please see her nomination below:
"This amazing student has shown incredible perseverance throughout the week. They've been a star in every class, actively participating and asking thoughtful questions. They are a technology whiz , using technology to take their learning to the next level. Speaking of next level, they've been acing tests left and right this week. Let's not forget their amazing teamwork skills that we saw in gym class. You couldn't ask for a better friend. They're always there to pick up their friends when they need a boost. I'm so proud of this student for their hard work, dedication, and positive attitude. They're a true inspiration to us all! Congratulations to Trey! You've earned this honor through your hard work and dedication. Keep up the amazing work! 🦁🎉"
Next week, we’ll be holding our October Parent/Teacher Conferences. These conferences provide a great opportunity for teachers and families to connect and check in on the school year’s progress. Please be sure to sign up with your child's teacher.
Have a wonderful weekend, CBA!
Best,
The CBA Team

CBA Elementary Parent Referral Program!
Refer a Friend!
Receive a $500 tuition credit as a thank you!
We know that great families know other great families, and the highest compliment our parents can give us is the referral of a family member, friend, or colleague.
Every child deserves a Chesterbrook Academy Elementary education. By sharing our school with others, you help to ensure that other students receive the same outstanding education as your child, while helping our community to thrive and grow.
The referral program is really simple:
1. Refer a family member, friend, or colleague to any program offered at your campuses.
2. The referring family will receive a tuition credit of $500 for every new student referred (up to three students). The referred family will also receive a $500 family tuition credit.
3. New to our school this year? You can still participate by referring other new families.
Participation is easy! You make an email introduction
*Please note, the Refer a Friend tuition credit is not retroactive. Thank you!

November Health Screenings
Dear CBA Families,
The PA Departments of Health and Education mandate annual student health screenings are provided as a part of the School Health Services Program. A WCASD nurse will be visiting our school on November 13th and 14th to perform these screenings for our students. A report with your child’s results will be provided for your review. We encourage you to keep this record and/or share with your physician. Referral letters will be sent when vision or hearing results do not meet the standard range of normal.
The standard screenings to be performed are listed below:
* Vision – Far & Near Acuity – All grades yearly, plus Lens & Color – 1st grade, Stereo/Depth Perception – 2nd grade.
NOTE: The vision screenings are not a substitute for a comprehensive eye examination by an eye care specialist. The American Optometric Association recommends eye examinations every two years during the school age years.
* Hearing - Grades K-3
* Height/Weight - All grades
* BMI - All grades
Please feel free to contact the WCASD school nurse at 484-266-1306 with any questions.
Thank you
