Happy New Year from CODERS!

Our annual Olympiad is just a month away, and we are excited to see your students take on the challenges we have prepared for them! Trophies will be awarded to the first four teams to finish, and all participants will receive a certificate of completion, as well as a goodie bag from the MSU Bookstore. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks will also be provided for those in attendance.

Preliminary Schedule for the Olympiad:

• Registration and Breakfast at 9:00 am
• Lunch will be served at 11:15 am
  
• Award Ceremony at 1:00 pm
  

To ensure we have enough resources for all participants, we kindly ask that you RSVP for the Olympiad, even if you are unsure whether your students will attend. Please submit your RSVP by Friday, February 7th, so we can plan accordingly.

Feel free to bring a school administrator! Working with your administrators helps us advance future program efforts. If you decided to bring someone, let us know so we can accommodate them.

Don't forget about our upcoming Summer Launch planning sessions! We will be meeting on Monday, February 10th and Monday, March 10th, to brainstorm ideas for the event. While attendance is optional, your input and ideas are crucial for a successful Launch, and we are eager to hear them! You can also use these meetings to make up any missing attendance hours.

Breakfast, lunch, and parking will be provided both days. Please RSVP to attend by Friday, January 24th, so we can plan accordingly for the food and other logistics.

If your school is closed on Mondays, we can pay you for these meetings. If your school is not closed on these days, we will pay for your sub. These meetings are open to any participant who wants to join.

Our first meeting on Monday, February 10th will be in PSU Ballroom East at 9:00 AM. We look forward to seeing you there!

Interested in presenting to new CODERS? Ready to facilitate or present a demonstration or lightning talk? If so, please submit your application by February 4th.

This summer, we are offering two exciting workshops for educators:

• Level 1: Introduction to Coding in the Classroom: Dates: June 2–June 5
  This workshop is ideal for teachers new to the program or those with one year of experience.

• Level 2: Design and Implementation (Note: This workshop will not be offered in Summer 2025.)

• Level 3: Co-Create, Collaborate, and Deep Thinking: Dates: June 3–June 4 and July 16-17
  This workshop is designed for teachers with at least two years of experience in the program.
  

We are thrilled to share that 24 teachers from 24 different schools have already committed to participating in next year's summer launch!

To receive the full stipend, all lesson reflections are due by Saturday, March 1. If you have completed the lessons along the way, you should only have one more!
